Best meat pies in town! We always pick up a tourtière for Christmas eve. The butter chicken pie is my favourite. 😋

Getting a variety of small pies to cut up and share has become a new Christmas Eve dinner tradition. Can't wait to try a couple of new flavours along with favs: butter chicken and beef and bacon 😋

Oh wow. Cannot believe I didn't know about this place. Super delicious pie and pretty cheap for the eat in too. There are a few free spots for eat in and street parking around in the industrial areas

Amazing pies. Incredible pasty and equally delicious fillings both savoury and sweet. The kangaroo, red wine and mushroom was extremely tasty and the butter chicken equally so.

I placed a large order to be picked up just before they closed on Saturday for a party. The ordering process was seamless, pick up was quick and easy and the pies and sausage rolls were amazing. The guests loved them. I highly recommend Saltchuck pies for any occasion.

An absolute gem and a true Victoria institution. The pies are out of this world — the crust is incredibly flaky, buttery, and rich. The fillings are wild and unique, from bison and roasted corn to kangaroo, plus a wide range of vegetarian options.
The only reason it’s missing a star is the somewhat dismissive customer service. I’ve been a few times and was always greeted a bit coldly, often waiting a minute or two while staff finished a conversation in the open kitchen before serving me. Also, paying nearly $50 for a savoury pie like the Turkey Diner feels steep.

The beef and mushroom pie had a good crust, but the filling didn’t have much complexity—just salty.
The butter walnut tart had a bad crust, but the filling tasted good.

This place is so great on so many levels. The staff are super friendly, the cafe is cheerful and bright, the pies and rolls are stellar, and the desserts are first class.
It's great if you've got a hungry crew in need of snacks, it's a fun place to take mother for a light lunch; and a gift certificate for one (or more) pies is always received with delight.
As a working person always on the move, I have to say this as well: easy parking, clean accessible washrooms, and fast service is a definite bonus and so appreciated.
