Sen Zushi - Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Victoria

This was my first time here, and I was impressed! The service was great, all the ingredients were fresh, and everything was delicious.

The tuna sashimi melts in your mouth. The tako-waso was amazing. Service was a little slow.

The best Japanese Restaurant in Victoria...we live in Ontario but have been visiting Victoria every year for the past 15 years, We had not been to SeZushi before and one visit was not enough. We will be back!

We did come back in May this year (2025) and would add that Sen Sushi Is among the best Japanese restaurants we have been to outside Japan!

Ordered some take out for me and the family! The person on the phone was very helpful and everything was delicious!

Excellent food that was plated elegantly and extremely tasty, perfectly relaxing and calm atmosphere, with friendly staff. They seemed a bit overwhelmed when I visited, so I did have to wait a bit for my bill, but I could see they were doing their best and appreciated it!

I heard alot of good reviews and tried it out for dinner.

They were friendly but service was not great. My reservation was at 7pm. We got there at 654pm and were seated, we were the first of our party to arrive. At 704 pm the waiter came by to ask if there were really 11 people coming. It had not even been 5 mins after 7pm, it made me feel a little terrible. Like they didn't believe I had a full table and reserved a table of 12 for 3 people.
When the rest of the party arrived, we had to flag down a waitress to order. We were not asked for refills of our drinks such as tea or water.
Nearing 8pm we were told kitchen last call. The restaurant was mostly empty at that point. We ordered food and the wait was no problem, we had no issues with the dishes at our table. But after getting our last call food it was almost closing and we asked if we could have our cake which we brought. We were still eating at our table when then came to tell us the restaurant was closing. They told us twice within 10 mins. It was our cue to leave. Some of us stopped eating to leave as we didn't feel comfortable staying just to finish the last few bites.

While the food was good, it was not as good as Toro or other sushi places. The prices are similar but I actually found Sen Zushi to be more expensive than Toro for less service and food.

One of our favourite Japanese restaurants in downtown Victoria. Authentic Japanese cuisine. We love their sushi and sashimi and tempura, always delicious😋 Their tempura and combos are tasty too. Portions are also generous. We simply love the atmosphere, especially when enjoying a little cup of sake and chat with friends. A great place to have gatherings. Booking recommended, especially at weekends.
