Sen Zushi - Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Victoria

My favourite Japanese restaurant in Victoria. It has delicious sashimi, sushi, and many other dishes. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful. Kozo, the head sushi chef, and his crew are absolute artists. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We recently dined at Sen Zushi with a group of friends and waited a full half hour before any staff approached us to take our order. In fact, we had to ask at the reception to send someone to take our order. Very disappointing as we have dined here multiple times and have had better service. As we finished eating, no one came to clear any dishes for a good 20-25 minutes. Nor did any service staff inquire if we needed anything else or how our meals were. Even though we had initially requested separate bills and designated who to bill, the wait person was confused and got our totals mixed up and actually charged some of us for items we did not order. Additionally, this server asked for more tip in addition to the 18% that was already included on our bills. We found our experience to be sub par and will hesitate to go there with a group of people again. Strangely enough the restaurant was not even busy and appeared fully staffed yet the service was inefficient and lacking.

I had heard about this place for weeks from a friend and she finally took me to visit last week. Let me tell you, the hot sake was SO good. All the food was stunning and I will go back in a heartbeat - it is well priced and the environment is lovely too. Cannot speak higher about this spot. So glad to know this exists.

As usual our experience was excellent tonight. The meal was delicious and the service very good.
This is our favorite Japanese restaurant and have been going for a few years.
We always highly recommend Sen Zushi and have brought lots of our friends to have dinner with us. It's always a hit.

The food is always great though the last two times I’ve ordered a meal for takeout the salad no longer came with dressing which was a bit disappointing.

If there was one word I could describe about this place, it would be “Godly.”. When me and my parents went here, the waiters welcomed us very kindly, already looking for a spot for us. We were sat down, and we already had our menus waiting on the table. I ordered the bento box, and my parents also ordered. The atmosphere was like you were in a traditional Japanese restaurant. The food did take some time, but that is reasonable, since there were many customers. When I got my order, the box was very big, filled with food and sauces. I was already eating it, and it was so good! The bill was a bit expensive, but it is very worth it. This is the best Japanese restaurant in the area.

We are originally from Japan and dined at this restaurant as we are visiting Victoria.

If you are looking for authentic Japanese restaurant in Victoria, this is your place!

We are often skeptical visiting Japanese restaurants in North America since vast majority of them are owned and prepared by Koreans or other East Asians with no formal training of Japanese cuisine.

We ordered a various appetizers like agedashi tofu, tofu salad, assorted tempura, crab sunomono, chirashi sushi and assorted nigiri. We were very impressed with them all as dashi, tastes, raw fish variety and preparation for sashimi and the neta of nigiri were all done correctly and fresh. Nigiri’s neta sizes were generous with the right amount of shari rice (just like the nigiri at Edomae sushi joints in Tsukiji/Higashi Ginza area) Also the selection of neta were abundant and with good quality indicating that these are prepared properly by Japanese. Our host and server were Japanese as well.
Sen zushi is our go to Japanese restaurant in Victoria!

After picking up my girlfriend last night, we had our dinner date here and it was such a good choice. The sushi was really fresh and delicious, beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The staff were polite and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely come back again for another date night 👍

Came at 7pm on a saturday and there was a long line. The line went fast and service was lovely. i loved the sushi bar and the food was great. Food came quickly for how busy it was. Thanks!!! Will be back!!

Delicious sushi. Rice was soft, seaweed was excellent, as well as the fillings. Service was delightful and the atmosphere is great. Only issue is the lack of menu options, but for the quality of the food, I understand. Definitely coming back.
