A pub with a truly British vibe - dark timbers, the right kind of sticky, even the stairs feel just right. Unexpectedly the best burgers (fish burger and a vegetarian bean burger) we had on this trip. Sit out on the deck if it's a nice day.
Unfortunately I must have hit an off day, as we all have them, Thankfully my server Lucy was super quick and kind to take my chicken burger off the bill when I had commented it was pretty burnt :( fries were super salty and so was the Chipotle aioli, the saving grace to the dish was honestly the side of Aioli I asked for. It had a great subtle hint of lemon and herbs and masked the fact that the fries were over salted!
I'm definitely willing to try again since the service and atmosphere was awesome!
P.s the guava beer is actually really good! In between a mix of a pilsner and a sour in my opinion!
One of our go to sports for a quick date night. Always a good meal and the servers take care of us. Recommend the reuben.
We went there on Sunday but we didn't have to wait for the table. The service is great. The portion of fish and chips and nachos are large, and the taste is not bad.
Small neighborhood pub. Decor is English pub. Great fish and chips.
Old school charm.
The cod tacos were really good! Friendly staff and a laid-back atmosphere.
Cozy spot to grab a bite and have some good drinks. Plenty of tvs to watch games.
Nothing wrong here today. We had good food and a relatively quiet atmosphere -very enjoyable experience.
Waitress was nice and professional yet “down homey” I had the Rueben -awesome.
Wife had calamari and Caesar -enjoyed
Best Monday wings in Victoria, highly recommend the hot-tiaki wings.

This place is a joke.
I used to love this restaurant, coming for the last 7 years for birthdays, after golf, etc…but after my last visit, I’ll never be back. One staff member was so unbelievably rude that I had no choice but to leave. Her attitude was nasty, dismissive, and completely unprofessional—like customers were an inconvenience. I was shocked and my girlfriend couldn’t even speak. I’ve never written a review like this before but that was messed up.
Even worse? No one cared. Weak apology, no attempt to fix it—just blank stares. If this is the level of service they accept, they don’t deserve to be in business. Do yourself a favour, save your money and go somewhere that actually values simple kindness.
Awesome pub, I had the Rueben, and it is definitely one in the running for best in town! See you soon.
Enjoyed the location, lots of stairs. Excellent food and choices.
Nice pub! I went for a quick lunch and ordered a Fish n Chips with a non-alcooholic Cranberry Fizz. Was nice!
Service was fast even though it was very busy. Partner had the Beef Dip which was excellent, I had the Chicken Crunch Burger, was hoping it to be spicy/hot as I was told it would be but it was overly sweet. Far too much apple coleslaw and pickles which made it a runny mushy mess with a soggy bun. Nix the pickles and slaw (or less of it) and whatever else sauce was on it to make the chicken the star. Service was OK but didn't come back to make sure everything was OK (could have used more napkins as my burger was a mess).
Atmosphere is odd lots of older locals.
