We had the privilege and pleasure of doing a Songhees Canoe Tour yesterday and I cannot recommend it highly enough! We were a group of folks travleing from all over the world and some of us who live here in Victoria. The tour is run by Lekwungen members of the Songhees Nation. Great conference spaces with friendly staff and a calm vibe. Mid-day traffic can be a hassle from the dockyard on weekdays, but biking is a viable alternative for guests. Great in-house catering & audiovisual available.
The guides are generous with their time and with their stories. I was so moved by their willingness to share their personal relationship with their culture and this place. As someone who is increasingly interested in history, it was a fascinating tour. But anyone who just loves to learn and be in a beautiful place will enjoy!
