Found this as we drove by and decided to go there for breakfast. So glad we found it. Food and service were both excellent. Highly recommend.

Wandering, looking for breakfast. As we walked toward what we thought we were going to have for breakfast, we passed the Sour Pickle. The smell of breakfast wafting from the restaurant grabbed my sniffer and led us to the front of the store to look at the menu. A Quick Look and we decided to give the pickle a go. Me and the boss decided on the Mexican omelet and a coffee. What a meal. Toast and crisp, delicious hash browns shared the plate with the main attraction, an enormous three egg omelet stuffed with peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon and onions topped with cheese and salsa sauce. The boss had me finish her omelet but by God I finished all mine too…. Thankfully we had a walk back to the hotel to work some of that big breakfast off.Prices are in line with every other place here in Victoria, however this is a local, husband and wife team that make awesome food and seem genuinely happy to be serving their brand of home cooking to the people. I wouldn’t hesitate to drop in again when we return and try another menu item, wish we had found you sooner!

Everything is perfect, just it's way too pricey. On top of this, there is a 5% fee on credit cards (not on debit), which I couldn't see on the menyon the menu. Got 4 and not 5 stars, just because of them being a little too much greedy.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian omelette is yummi!

We were heading to Jam but the line was crazy long so we stumbled into the Sour Pickle. Very old school in a good way. Service is amicable but the food was a bit of a let down. Very basic, under seasoned, and just bland overall. Especially for the price, I was expecting higher quality. Coffee was not included at almost $20/plate. So for $60 after tax and tip for two people, we left full but not fulfilled. I would probably wait for Jam next time.

Great food and great service. So good! Came in with a group of hungry teenagers and there were plates of food on the table before anyone got antsy. We'll be back!

Service was very good. Followed up on food and coffee, not watered down coffee either, friendly service. I had the 2 eggs and Sausage. The eggs were perfectly cooked overeasy's. The bread was bland and I got a little packet of kraft strawberry jam without any offers for other kinds. Potatoes were bland and dry. Like something I make in a rush at home because I'm late for work. Breakfast sausage were a descent breakfast sausauge like something you get at cora's. Overall it's a place I would eat again if joining others but not gonna choose this as a place I love to eat at or that I would return because I want breakfast.

I had breakfast at the cafe on a recent trip to Victoria and had a very pleasant experience. Would highly recommend for a home cooking experienceThe location is very central - right at Johnson Bridge Store Street - close to the harbour, shopping, Chinatown.I had the breakfast with scrambled eggs sausages and toast. Everything was made from scratch (just like home cooking!) fresh and delicious. Portions were generous. Just hit the spot. In addition the coffee is bottomless cup. It’s a family run cafe and service was courteous and friendly. The decor is very whimsical and cheerful with special place for pickle decorations ?. There is a small outdoor seating area for nicer weather days.Very reasonably priced and a much cozier, friendlier start to the day than at bigger restaurants in the area. There were regulars when we dined there which added to the cozy ambience.

Your Mexican omelette was the best looking and best tasting omelette I have ever eaten. Thank you, Sour Pickle.

We found this place around the corner from our AirBnB. Really friendly/funny staff, and we had an excellent breakfast. Worth supporting local small businesses even when traveling.

Very chill but quaint environment. The food was very good for a very price. Friendly, personable service. Great to support a local family-run business. I had the classic eggs and bacon. The food came out fast and the home style fries were delicious. My niece had the waffles which came with some apple and orange slices and was also delicious
