Stayed here for a second time, really clean and nice rooms, a bit noisy but nothing extreme. Staff is always kind and helpful whenever you approach them at the front desk.

The hotel was very dirty. I went there in person and tried to visit the room before paying the cost, but nobody helped me. Also, after getting the key, nobody guided me to the room. The room temperature was so cold, the bathroom was horribly dirty, and there were some hairs there. It was a really bad experience. There were three ladies, but none of them cared about the issues.

We initially had a small issue at check in but the hotel quickly made things write and we are very pleased with the outcome. The room is nice and clean, beds are comfortable and everything is nice.

This is a wonderful hotel with a classical style and feel. Room has been renovated to a more modern theme but still retains a classic vibe. Didn't have a view out of my window, but I was still happy with the room and cleanliness. One thing I should mention is just be careful when you are out walking in downtown late at night, as the drivers don't seem to care that you are waiting to cross the street. There are also some homeless a couple blocks away but it's standard for any downtown. Don't let that deter you from visiting and choosing this hotel. It's in a great, central location within walking distance to the waterfront, Chinatown, and many shops, restaurants and pubs. You should choose Strathcona if you want a classy vibe and a hotel that represents Victoria's history and don't want a basic Days Inn or something along those lines. The price is also quite reasonable. You will obviously pay more than a more basic hotel but you will get a much better experience. It has an upscale vibe that won't break the bank!

Great hotel, friendly staff and great location. We had a group of 45 and the staff was easy to accommodate a large group and made check in and payment easy. The manager, Aisha, was also fantastic ensuring everything was handled well. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in Victoria!

**UPDATE: thank you to hotel management for calling, apologising, and advising the staff members would receive additional training…. The staff members need a lesson on LGBT inclusion. After I confirm that we don’t need an extra bed, don’t ask again. The first time was once too many. I didn’t make a mistake on my booking. The first issue of several on check-in

Every staff member was very friendly & accommodating especially Natalie at check-in. Our TV was not working correctly & Nitin came up & personally reprogrammed it for us so we could relax & watch a movie. Also he directed us how to best get to our destinations. They never seemed like we were a problem and always took their time making sure we had the information needed! The room was nice & spacious & my sisters & I really enjoyed and our stay in Victoria! We look forward to coming back & enjoying this city again!

Great hotel downtown Victoria. Customer service was great. Room was small but in perfect condition. A bit of street noise as would be expected when on Douglas Street.

Quick trip to Victoria to see a show at the Royal Theatre and this was the perfect hotel for that weekend. Close to everything, comfortable rooms, lovely staff, and an extraordinary selection at the adjacent spirits store.Walkability: Right in the middle of the Victoria tourist attractions, shopping and live shows.
