Ordered teriyaki stir fry which consisted of beef on a bed of bean sprouts and no other vegetables. I don't even like bean sprouts. An employee walked in mid meal with a bag of produce so I am assuming they ran out of traditional stir fry staples, carrots, cabbage, bok choy and offloaded a bunch of stiff pungent bean sprouts on me instead. Terrible experience. Food took 30 minutes to arrive and then 20 minutes to get the bill. I could have walked next door and bought them the produce if I had known they had run out and were going to spend so much time preparing me an aweful meal! One positive, the miso soup was Luke warm!

Literally our absolute favorite place to go in town, it is such a hidden gem. We've been coming here for years now. The sushi and prices here are unbeatable. This place is actually a closely guarded secret that my partner and I only share with our closest friends.................... and now you, I guess. 🤫

Our favorite sushi place, and true hole in the wall and in my opinion, Victoria's best kept secret.

Value for portions is great, service is wonderful.

One of our favourite places to eat.. their sushi is so delicious, friendly staff and you should try their green tea icecream.

YUMMY fresh sushi. We came in pretty late and they were still willing to have us and were exceptionally friendly.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi Island, and it was hands down one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional touches.

The service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, offering helpful recommendations based on my preferences.

Now, onto the star of the show—the sushi. Each piece was a masterpiece, crafted with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was absolutely stunning. The Sake Toro Battera and Volcano Roll and was a standout, with melt-in-your-mouth texture and vibrant flavors that left me wanting more.

Overall, Sushi Island exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back for another unforgettable meal!

Tried phoning during business hours to make a pick up order and nobody answered, went in to order (again during business hours) and the door was open with no lights on and some guy in the back came out and said to come back in an jour. strange experience..

Ordered & paid online, but when I showed up they told me they had turned off their computer and didn't have my order (though I had the receipt). The girl working there was very nice & apologetic, but the owner wasn't willing to lift a finger- just told me to try to cancel the order. Their food may be good... but I'll never know.
