I used to fw the cove heavy in sem 1, mainly because of the sandwich lab. How could you not like sem 1 lab, they had the 2 johns, victor, and Jian, the true sandwich artisans. But when I come back sem 2, are my goats there? Hell no, they are gone. All these new gens taking over can’t deliver and they fold under pressure. They make my sandwich like the ingredient cost comes out of their pay checks!!!! Tbh idk if I can keep going like this 😔. Might boycott!!! Bring back the johns!!!

Not bad. A little expensive
Very noise, expensive and bad food.
Workers are rude.
A horrible burger goes for about 23$ if you add that should be in a burger.

Food is ridiculously overpriced. Don’t know if i’m going to survive eating the slop there my 2nd semester. Eating out everyday is literally cheaper. Dumpster diving could have more nutritional value.

Food is terrible
The reality is you have little idea how much you're actually going to pay for something. The workers making the food behind the counter don't know how much the food costs other then what it says on their menu.
At the cash register you are presented with no invoice regarding what it might be. In all seriousness the people at the register could very well be pushing additional cost buttons and you would effectively not be aware of it unless you ask for a receipt and debit them all whilst 100s of people wait to purchase their food.
The food itself tastes pretty good all things considered.
Most items here are priced 2x what they would be at competing stores.
For deseptive and misleading practices 1 star

I paid 4$ for a teabag (black tea) and hot water! Isn't it crazy??
Food is awful, but overpriced nonetheless. Summer staff are incredibly rude, and manager is un-professional and impolite. Lines are so long and cross contamination is a huge issue in foods that are supposedly vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, egg free, or Halal.

Restaurantji Recommends
Overpriced for what you get. The staff can be rude, and the lines are ridiculously long, especially during the summer months. The food isn’t great—definitely not worth the cost. It feels like they're taking advantage of students. Would not recommend unless absolutely necessary.

WAY overpriced. $6.50 for a day old pizza in the fridge? Extortion in a place of learning is pretty weak, no excuse for that. Won’t go again.

I live in the area and decided to try one of Juvic‘s newest establishments. When I went to school here, the options were much fewer. However, prices were quite high, even then. Now the cost of eating at uvic is so high that no student other than international Could ever afford to go to the school. You do have to eat after all.
