Place is good but not a fan of management. Also rlly expensive for what you get

It's just not my scene. Didn't eat or drink anything. Got quick and dirty service to a table... explained that they are a bar order establishment, so we order up at the bar. We read the menu, and we were just not feeling the style and type of food they offered. We got up and went to another establishment a few blocks away. Sorry, but it just was not our type of place. (Before the hate, please just remember this is ONLY my opinion, and I am not saying it is a horrible place, just not a place for me.)

In the last 7 days, I've been in Seattle, Vancouver, and Victoria. This is the best meal I've had so far... and second place is distant. The Kafka Esque sandwich and veuve de coast IPA were both excellent.

Great atmosphere for a big group of guys trying to enjoy a summers day!

We just had beer and a snack

Great place for locals and tourists alike - couples, families, friends, workmates, whatever, good food, good beers, and plenty more besides. Along with a couple of flights of beer, we had the Kafka-esque hot dog and the Mustard Pickle Grilled cheese with pulled pork - excellent! Pictures in the Comments below…

Great craft beer selection. Lively environment on a weeknight evening after work.

We decided to go elsewhere for food as the menu was quite limited and not what we were looking for that night. It appears from the other reviews that the food is very good, if something on the menu catches your eye. It's just not classic pub food.

We had a faculty holiday party here and the food was delicious. Winter squash hummus, kimchi grilled cheese, pickled everything, even vegan choices. So good!!

Very good curated beer selection, always changing. The food is farm to table, which can be hit and miss but an A for effort! Sometimes smaller than I would expect, but the ingredients are always top quality and the prices are commiserate with that.
Last night we had truly amazing parsnip soup, but was surprised when we got charged extra for bread, and then more extra for butter with our salad! Just ask about prices before you order and you’ll be just fine, as the food is certainly quality. To us, this just adds to the interestingly casual and quirky ambience.
Very casual, which makes it our go-to pub

The Drake never fails to impress! I love the vibes inside (and out) of the bar and their food is amazing! And it's so reasonably priced for a downtown spot! I cannot recommend enough

Vegetarian options: I had vegan squash tacos and they were incredible!

Dietary restrictions: Great options for a celiac!

Great atmosphere. Really friendly service. Reasonable prices. I had their squash vegetarian tacos, and while the serving might look small, it was super filling. Really delicious fresh ingredients and lots of flavor.

I won a gift card to here from the Red Cedar Cafe charity silent auction. Glad to see a restaurant like the Drake supporting an important cause.

I ordered the Bahn mi sandwich and it was UNREAL! The baguette it came on was perfectly crisp and yet soft inside. The fresh meat was moist, the Kim chi was crisp and had a hint of heat. It had this green sauce on it that was amazing. And I love the side of putters pickles. I would say value exceeded cost!

I'm excited to come back and try more of this fun and affordable menu!

Both the food and drinks here were really top notch. They put a great spin on "pub food" with fresh veggie and meat options that don't make you feel sluggish, but are very satisfying.

Food was OK, nothing special. $5.50 for a canned margarita that they hand you over the counter with a glass was the turn off for me.
