Wish I found this place 4 years ago. I was only there for a few minutes to shoot the shit but man, this guy grills a nice bagel. He’s begging to retire but where is there another spot that I can get a bangin’ breakfast bagel, a half decent coffee and my daily quota of banter for the low price of $11-something?? Handsome customers too???? Everybody fine.

My fave coffee spot!! Love getting a latte with honey here, it’s so good to start the day off with. Alan has created a wonderful and welcoming space to grab a beverage or snack (EGG SALAD SANDWICH IS A++). Also treats for pups and lovely neighbourhood vibes to be had. Thankful to have this spot nearby!

Al’s cafe is the epitome of homemade, and i mean this in the highest regard. Walking in to this humble little sliver on oak bay ave feels like I just stumbled into my grandmas kitchen with hot soup on the stove and ready to go sandwiches. Al is the most accommodating host to everyone that steps foot into the Savoury Cafe wether part of their daily routine or just popping in for a quick cup of coffee. This is the kind of place you go to catch up with your neighbours and is a great example of what it means to value community

Went in for a warm bevy because I was early to an appointment, and it made my morning. I'll definitely be back. I didn't get his name, but the man who made my drink was warm and genuine, and made me feel very welcome.
I stumbled upon this cozy café while searching for a breakfast spot near my hotel, and I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. Initially, the photos didn’t seem particularly impressive, but the high ratings convinced me to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did!
I ordered an Americano, a bagel, and a breakfast wrap. The first surprise was the coffee—it was exceptional, rich, and perfectly brewed. The second was the breakfast itself—the flavors were incredible, fresh, and clearly made with care.
What made the experience even better was the warmth of the café owner. Despite the cold weather and the small seating area, the friendly interactions between the owner and the customers created an inviting, homely atmosphere that was far more enjoyable than any luxury restaurant.
This café completely changed my initial perception based on its photos. The amazing food, excellent coffee, and genuine hospitality left a lasting impression.
A huge thank you to the owner for the wonderful experience! I can’t wait to return to this charming café on my next trip to Victoria. If you’re ever in town, I highly recommend stopping by—you won’t regret it!
