Food was all so bland. We had wings and Brie and calamari and nachos. Nothing tasted like anything. The nachos were so expensive for about 10 tortilla chips and no cheese. Don’t eat here.

We arrived for happy hour at 3.40pm. We were given a non view seat in the main pub. We waited for 15 minutes for our drinks and were advised that the happy hour Sauvignon blanc was not available.
We ordered fish and chips and a burger and fries. The fish was almost non existent and the batter was soggy. The chips were fried in an oil that was so old and brown that it had an acrid taste. The coleslaw was actually the highlight of the meal except there was only a tablespoon.
The burger was actually very good and my wife was gracious enough to to share it with me.
This meal with tip was $96 and was to say the least a very unmemorable experience.

The terrace seating is beautiful, but a bit noisy and service was spotty. We didn't mind, the day was gorgeous and the wine lovely.

Food is good, not great. Portions are fine, nothing special for what you pay for. There are lots of better options in Victoria, but for the convenience and location its good.

Unfortunately the food at the snug was really terrible. Such a disappointment considering we didn’t want to leave the beautiful hotel and go elsewhere for dinner so we decided to stay in and treat ourselves there. We would come to regret this decision unfortunately.

The menu was overpriced which would have been acceptable if the food was somewhere close to fine dining. The prices were very confusing too- one crab cake was $22, but get a second one and it was $6 more.. the only other thing on the plate were a few mixed leaves and tartare sauce. So if the crab cake is worth $6 a piece, then where is the other $16 on the plate? Surely not the decorative leaves and sauce?

I get halibut each time I see it on the menu because it’s my favourite fish to eat and I think it’s worth the higher price. The “halibut” that came out was the thinnest, overcooked piece of a fish tail I’ve ever seen. It was so thin that I contemplated asking the server if this was really the same meaty fish that I often order. I had a feeling it was a different fish. (After some research and talking to a friend who’s a chef, they confirmed that even the tail end of a halibut would have had a thickness to it). My only regret was not snapping a photo of it as proof. Regardless, the fish was overcooked, stiff and dry. The bean cassoulet it was served with was flavoured similar to beans made with a packet soup. 0/10, not enjoyable in the slightest.

My husband’s tuna dish was covered with a mountain of green olive tapenade and served with capers and more whole olives. Just a bizarre combination of salt, salt and more salt.

Desserts included a chocolate bomb cheesecake; covered in a chocolate so thick that it was like a brick to crack through. And my blueberry pie was similar to a microwaved pastry from Safeway. Only it didn’t have enough time to get hot, so it was luke warm, and the pastry soggy.

We were in the dining area off to the side because we had our one year old with us and the main part of the snug is for adults only. We had no issue with that, but unfortunately as we were the only table there, we were totally forgotten about unless our food was being delivered. Three tables around us had leftover plates and glassware that nobody bothered to clean in the hour and a half we were there.
Nobody checked on us so that we could make our complaints while the food was in front of us. The service was just not good. We still tipped accordingly as we were in a 5* establishment and the other amenities in the hotel were so good, but on reflection it was a mistake.

In the end we just wrote it off as a big disappointment and a waste of $200+

OBBH needs to up its game. Wait staff needed more training. People who came in after us, ordered, were served, eaten and left before our meal had arrived. Had to call our server to find out where our food was! When it did arrive it was incomplete and tepid. Come on… this is third rate!

To be fair, I came for the 2-4pm happy hour so the value was insane, but it was INCREDIBLE and the food was tasty and staff super friendly. 10/10 ambiance

One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We specifically came to this restaurant to enjoy their seafood spaghetti—a dish clearly listed on their menu. To our surprise, we were told they don’t serve it with spaghetti, only penne. When I asked why they could serve spaghetti carbonara but not the seafood spaghetti, the server claimed they “didn’t have enough spaghetti.”

Yet somehow, they had enough to prepare the carbonara I didn’t even want—and it was bland and underwhelming. The service was just as bad. The waitress made zero effort to make things right or offer alternatives that would leave us satisfied. It felt like we were being brushed off rather than served.

What really added insult to injury? They used a portion of spaghetti for the carbonara I didn’t enjoy or even finish, but refused to prepare the seafood dish I actually wanted. Just an awful experience, both in terms of customer service and food.
