Overpriced and terrible service at all levels. The view is great but they are clearly leaning heavily on their location. There are many much more worthwhile places to go for better quality food, and above all, better service.

We used to love coming here in the past…haven’t been for probably 2 years and were so disappointed! The Snug is well situated with great views and good service, but I would have to rate the food quality and value at 2.5 Although visually appealing, the calamari appetizer lacked seasoning and the slices of jalapeño were overkill. The tuna steak was equally unappetizing and the uninspired snug salad was a big $28 miss. For an additional $16, I guess I could have ordered 3 shrimp to improve the protein content/flavour profile. The basic vinaigrette had either been poured over the salad or the ingredients were added afterwards which resulted in dry unseasoned ingredients on top and soaked greens at the bottom of the bowl. The ubiquitous cherry tomatoes on every dish are almost impossible to stab with a fork and/or slice with a butter knife. The service was friendly and helpful but did not make up for a disappointing $96 lunch for two with no alcohol.

Not impressed with this place. It is very expensive and certainly the views are beautiful, however the food we ordered was underwhelming. The kalamari is a very small helping, and was dry and not noteworthy for $24. To make it worse, one of us found a LONG hair in a side salad. We advised the waitress and asked for fries to replace the salad. The fries were delicious, actually the best thing we ordered, but I felt that there should have been an adjustment of the bill. Overall overpriced for average food.

Been here a couple times now. Food never tastes fresh (veggies unripe, frozen burger beef etc), tried a few bites of other items out of curiosity and nothing has much flavour. Very disappointing because I love the hotel and rest of the property - FARO included but for the price, this pub’s food is truly lacklustre. Service was okay and the view was nice which is why I give it two stars - otherwise I’d leave it one.

I found myself venturing out to the Snug at the Oak Bay Beach hotel on a quiet Friday morning, I was nicely greeted upon entry and given the option to sit inside the well decorated and cozy portion of the pub or to enjoy the stunning water front views on the patio.
Upon sitting on the patio I was given a menu and a quick ask for what sort of beverage I wish to have. My server Charlotte was outstanding with her hospitality, made me feel with the upmost welcome to my brief visit to the restaurant. My coffee was quickly delivered and was delicious to say the least. I was able to endrudged in a amazing muffin which was so tasty I find myself craving for more. Followed by the eggs benedict which was delightful surprise. All in all a wonderful experience. With the peace and serenity and the amazing hospitality from my server Charlotte I felt so welcomed and felt almost as if it was my own home, I will definitely be returning.
Fabulous place to go for dinner or lunch! If you sit on the patio you are over looking the water and the gorgeous mineral pool! The mussels in garlic white wine sauce were amazing and the pasta was exceptional! The tomato soup to start was perfect for this chilly weather. I recommend making reservations for the patio! Service was very good as well.

Faith was our server and Aiden was the manager working the night we were there and they were both fantastic. We had an unfortunate experience at another restaurant that had nothing to do with them but they made it their goal to salvage our night and job well done.
