We had dinner here while staying in the hotel. The views from the patio are amazing, the food is about what you’d expect from a good but not great hotel restaurant. As a celiac diner there were not that many gluten free options, but our waiter explained their allergy/cross contamination protocols and it’s clear they take it really seriously so I felt safe with what I ordered. They also gave us really yummy gf macarons as a free sweet treat at the end of the meal!
Sat us down then disappeared. Anyone? Bueller? Guess I should have had my shirt pressed.
The Location is great the service is also very good.
Unfortunately, the French fries were really bad, hard like a rock, overcooked, and fried in very old oil.
Amazing breakfast with great views! Crab cake Benedict was fantastic
Absolutely laughable. I can't believe they charge the prices they do for the food they serve. I will eat a beef dip if it's on almost any menu. When I saw it on theirs I jumped on it. $32 for a sandwich. I wasn't paying so I went for it. Granted, they used beef short rib as the beef, so I understand the premium price. Too bad it was hot garbage. The beef was over cooked and stringy, even crunchy on bits. Beef shouldn't be crunchy. The menu boasted caramelized onions and I forgot until I got near the end as they were all piled on one half of the sandwich. The cheese was flavorless. The jue was fine, but still a powdered mix, and the fries were lukewarm at best.
The server was fine, nothing to complain about regarding that, and of course the view. Unfortunately, the service and the view couldn't make up for feeling ripped off even though I didn't pay!
I've had better fast food.
I'll not go back, even if you're paying.
With prices this high, one has certian expectations. This was our first to this establishment. The atmosphere was bland and sterile, not cozy as expected with a name like the Snug. We had the seafood chowder and the Tuna warm potato salad as well as some beverages. The chowder was boring and tasteless, with mostly dry salmon and a couple shrimp. The salad tuna was not seared properly, it looked awful. If you're going to charge these prices, all your ingredients better be top notch and fresh! I ordered a side of fries with the chowder, they served frozen fries that weren't very warm when they reached the table. Nothing makes me crazier than an establishment pricing so high, and yet serves frozen French fries! House cut fresh fries should be the standard in this town, and many establishments do offer them. We really wanted to like the place , but the atmosphere, the slow service, and mediocre food made this our first and last visit. Very disappointed.

I won't order the mussels again. What the broth lacked in flavour, it made up in jagged shards of shell.

After being shown to a seat and ignored for 20 minutes with zero service to me or any of the other hungry/thirsty patrons around me, I left with nothing. Waste of half an hour of my life

We came here to celebrate my parents' anniversary and enjoyed a great ocean view, delicious food, and drinks. It’s truly a place of tranquility.
It wouldn't have been a 5-star review without Emma T. who went far and beyond to accommodate our request and solve the issue… special thanks to Emma for providing excellent customer service, arranging the best possible table for us, and saving the day.
Also thanks to Ian who was also kind and accommodating.
We really enjoyed our dinner and view!
Kid-friendliness: I have to say there was an issue at the entrance. We were initially refused entry by hostess Kyra because we had two children under 19 with us. We were informed that their liquor license didn't allow us to be seated inside, and all the patio tables were taken, and that we should go to another restaurant…
However, Emma T. later resolved the situation, and we were eventually seated.
I genuinely believe Kyra can do better next time. Please consider providing her with additional training.

Not quite the Snug of old but very much the spiritual successor! Great food and service, amazing views!

One of our favourite places in Victoria to grab a beer and enjoy good food.
The burgers are always good, but as I’m trying to eat less meat, I tried the vegan kale curry steak and it was delicious
