The rude lady that met us at the door tried to keep us from entering by standing in our way when she saw our service animal. When we did finally manage to step inside she proceeded to come up with every reason why they could not serve us, from starting with their was a long wait to ending with we are totally booked for the entire day. We will NEVER visit this place again!
Not for tourists! Does not accept American Express nor Discover. When trying to pay in American dollars, they wanted us to pay the same amount as Canadian dollars. So a $200 Canadian dollar bill (which equals about $140 in American dollars) became a $200 American dollar bill (which is about $285 Canadian dollars). Food was okay. Cheddar and dill scones were the best, but the desserts were lacking. Know to bring a Visa card or Canadian cash to avoid being overcharged.
Absolutely outstanding High Tea! I ordered the Elevenses.
Particularly loved the Panna cotta and the Lemon Meringue. The Royal Abkhazi Black tea blend was excellent.
Really fantastic service too - thanks very much, Summer!
If you have an afternoon, GO DO THE HIGH TEA
The food was amazing, and the service was excellent! We had a great time!

What a pleasant and delicious experience! We came by a bus tour and took a short walk around the serene and beautiful gardens. Then we went into the teahouse for afternoon tea or high tea. The table settings were dainty and all different pretty patterns of tea pots, tea cups and saucers. Then they brought out the 3 tiers filled with finger sandwiches, scones and mini sweet desserts. The buttery cream and homemade jam for the scones was to die for! I couldn't stop eating them! We, of course, drank our tea the English way with milk and sugar. It was a very delightful outing!

Nice atmosphere and grounds, I prefer the Murchies tease better myself. May just be personal preference. Nice staffing also
Gardens were smaller than I thought but admission is by donation. Street parking is the only option
Vegetarian options: Elevensies menu was vegetarian.

It has a cute garden and is pretty. It's inconvenient that reservations are only accepted by phone, but it's not difficult to connect. I made a difficult reservation in Korea, but the service and food were poor, so I am leaving a review in Korean telling people not to go.
I lived in Canada for about 10 years and returned to my country, so I am familiar with Canadian culture, but the employees are very slow. And I had four experiences where I couldn't tell if it was racism or just poor service.
1. The people sitting next to us took orders and started serving menus.
2. My husband was taking pictures of me, and a server suddenly came and checked all the pictures, saying that he felt uncomfortable and that another server had taken pictures of him with a hidden camera. There were 2 out of 10 photos that had a slight scratch in the corner of the photo, so I cropped it and deleted it, and was shocked that I didn't delete the photo itself. He then thanked me for at least deleting it.
3. I was the last to order and the last to receive the menu. Would you like me to explain the menu to other people? They explained things one by one, but we just handed them plates and left. And when he came first, he asked if he had eaten everything and tried to clean it up.
4. It seemed very intentional, but they brought a bilge that was twice the amount we chose and tried to make us pay right away. Ordering and serving were so slow, so I wondered why payment was so fast. And when I asked about the difference in amount, he said ohhhhhh sorry about that, took the bill, and then gave it back to me after a while.
Afternoon tea is pretty good in Korea these days, so there's nothing particularly delicious about it or anything like that. Local dessert shops just taste much better. If you're going to go here, I think it would be better to go to Butchart Gardens. I was contemplating between Butchart Gardens and this place to celebrate my birthday, so I went here and gave my Canadian friends negative reviews, and they all said they wouldn't go.
Make sure to check your bill, they purposely overcharged me and pretended like they didn't know. If its not on purpose, it just proves that the servers are really bad at doing their job. I was charged double. Their service was also horrible, they served people who came after us and we were the last people to receive their service and the first ones that were asked to pay first.

While I love Abkhazi Garden, their afternoon tea hasn't been my cup of tea. I’ve tried it a few times but haven’t been impressed with the pastries or desserts. However, the view and the garden are breathtaking for sure.

I am very disappointed. The working hours on Google are incorrect. They close at 3:45 PM instead of 5 PM, as mentioned. I walked in at 3:46 PM and was denied service. This made me sad since I spent an hour traveling here from another town. I will change my review once you correct your schedule on Google. For now, I want others to be informed.

Exquisite high tea with ample food and tea. Service was excellent and gracious. Do note the following: There is no parking on site. You must find parking in the neighborhood and if you do a drop off in front there is an uphill walk to the actual entrance to the dining room. Both can be challenging to the handicapped (I am but don't use a wheelchair).
