Classic Cafe situated in a historic old building in Oakbay village..the latte was a nice surprise not a cup of syrup sweetener and my chicken BLT was excellent...we will be stopping by the ice cream shop next door tomorrow

I thought this place was going to be worth it for the price but for what we got -a small sandwich for 17 dollars?? It’s crazy that a simple sandwich costs that much. It wasn’t anything from another world or worth to pay 17 dollars plus tax
it seemed too expensive.
We tried the sausage roll which was really good and a cheese sausage roll which honestly tasted like any other generic one ( it tasted like it wasn’t house made ).
Our server spilled some coffee while setting it down in the table but she didn’t bother apologizing or cleaning it up or even acknowledging it. The service at the counter while ordering your food wasn’t good either.
The patio is pretty and nice on sunny days but I don’t think I would ever go back again. I hope that they either lower the price of the sandwich or improve it.

What a wonderful experience! This charming cafe has incredible food and service. The owners are genuinely lovely people who work hard to care for their customers. It’s clear that Windsor Cafe has a very dedicated following of regulars because I saw so many customers being called by name and addressed with warmth and kindness. The cafe is in a charming old Victorian home near the water which makes it a great stop for tourists and locals. As a chef myself, I was very impressed with the fresh food and coffee. The staff are so friendly and efficient and clearly care about their level of service. I will be back! This is my favourite cafe in Victoria, hands down!!

It was the most disappointing experience in a restaurant yet. My husband visited the cafe with my daughter, who had just purchased ice cream from next door. He ordered a coffee and a pastry from the cafe. While they were waiting for their food to arrive, the server advised my husband that they did not allow ice cream on their patio. When he explained that he was waiting for his food and coffee to arrive, she suggested that she would pack it up to go. We will never go back to that cafe and strongly recommend to others to do the same. There are far too many establishments in Victoria that work hard for customers and patronage. These people clearly do not.

Best chai and mocha in town, a must stop on a sunny day

I had visited this place years ago and it was rather pleasant and the food not bad, but this time the customer service was a disappointment. Do the people running this place have the expectation for visitors to know how the system works there and let people wait for hours on end outside without telling them? There are no waiters coming to your table offering a menu and/or taking your order. You need to go inside, pick up a menu yourself, chose what you want and go back in and tell them…
That would be fine, but LET PEOPLE KNOW!
Didn’t bother staying to try their food this time.
Seems that it’s the kind of place that has its own regular clientele and doesn’t even bother about tourists. Message received…

Friendly staff and warm environment. Lemon loaf tasted two days old but decent quality, my spinach cheese bun was only warmed up halfway but still tasted good. I would visit again if I was in the area.

Welcoming place with homemade food. Good sandwich but would love to have had some chips or pickles on the side.

We had the croissant breakfast sandwich. The coffee is really good too. Super friendly staff. Lovely place for brunch.

We prefer to sit upstairs where it's quieter.

I have had coffee here many times and always enjoyed the exceptional coffee and service. Yesterday I was here with my daughter. She ordered a pear and goat cheese salad and daily soup. I ordered a bagel. It was not busy. When the food didn't come after 20 min we asked the order to be " take away "as we had to go. It arrived 8 min later. The salad was bagged greens with microscopic pieces of pear and cheese. For $19.00? The soup was good but less than a half cup for $8.50. My bagel was lukewarm and soggy. We ate the lunch in the car immediately. My complaint is price for poor quality/ service. Hopefully this was just a bad day for the staff. I see the owner wondering why we didn't complain. We would have complained but were in the car and left the area. I think the review is accurate and fair. We have only ordered coffee and lemon squares in the past. First time for lunch I hope your chef in training learns quickly how to make a pear/cheese salad. Putting cheese and pear in it is very important . We have photos if you would like me to post. Good Luck!

On the few occasions I have visited this café my experience has been the same, - not good. Ordered a sausage roll and lemon cake. The roll had little taste, very little meat and was as hard as carboard, the lemon loaf tasted old. The service is consistently slow. Staff were too busy talking to friends.

A wonderful, quaint cafe in a fabulous location. I've visited a few times for coffee and snack while on a bike ride. A favorite is their amazing mushroom soup- best I've ever had. Sandwiches are also excellent- very fresh. The outside patio options, as well as the cozy indoor spaces makes this a great choice all year round. Friendly and efficient staff too. Highly recommend.
