I have had coffee here many times and always enjoyed the exceptional coffee and service. Yesterday I was here with my daughter. She ordered a pear and goat cheese salad and daily soup. I ordered a bagel. It was not busy. When the food didn't come after 20 min we asked the order to be " take away "as we had to go. It arrived 8 min later. The salad was bagged greens with microscopic pieces of pear and cheese. For $19.00? The soup was good but less than a half cup for $8.50. My bagel was lukewarm and soggy. We ate the lunch in the car immediately. My complaint is price for poor quality/ service. Hopefully this was just a bad day for the staff. I see the owner wondering why we didn't complain. We would have complained but were in the car and left the area. I think the review is accurate and fair. We have only ordered coffee and lemon squares in the past. First time for lunch I hope your chef in training learns quickly how to make a pear/cheese salad. Putting cheese and pear in it is very important . We have photos if you would like me to post. Good Luck!

On the few occasions I have visited this café my experience has been the same, - not good. Ordered a sausage roll and lemon cake. The roll had little taste, very little meat and was as hard as carboard, the lemon loaf tasted old. The service is consistently slow. Staff were too busy talking to friends.

My wife and I stopped for a quick bite while on our honeymoon escapade. Very friendly staff and very nice atmosphere. Food is fresh and yummy! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to chill and enjoy and a coffee / beer and a bite to eat. Thanks for having us and the helpful hints on a nice place for a fancy dinner!!! :)

A wonderful, quaint cafe in a fabulous location. I've visited a few times for coffee and snack while on a bike ride. A favorite is their amazing mushroom soup- best I've ever had. Sandwiches are also excellent- very fresh. The outside patio options, as well as the cozy indoor spaces makes this a great choice all year round. Friendly and efficient staff too. Highly recommend.

If you want to find an alternative to starbucks' atmosphere, this cafe is a hidden gem ! You feel like you're in old England or Scotland and there is so much space to sit upstairs, downstairs or outside. It's beautifully situated in the corner of windsor park.
Parking: About 10 parking spots right infront of it or you can park across the street as it's right infront of Windsor Park. Not far at all.
Kid-friendliness: Lots of space and options for food and drinks. Asked for a kids hot chocolate and they were able to accommodate. Friendly staff.

Had the chicken BLT sandwich. It was great! Wandered across the street to the park and ate under the shade of a large tree. Lovely neighborhood.

This was just the thing for a simple lunch in the neighbourhood. The mushroom soup was excellent. Friendly, welcoming staff. Old timey Oak Bay charm. We'll be back!

A hidden treasure in the neighborhood. Good service, great food. All in house created. Even some of the baking goods. Just minutes from the Oak Bay Hotel. Worth the walk.

The location is good, nice outside seating. I was really! disappointed at the food. I ordered a chicken BLT it was more like a lettuce sandwich to make it look big and a tiny bit of chicken and bacon for $14.50. The sandwich was on store bread and didn't even have a side of potato chips, a pickle, or anything.
I ordered a spinach fetta pastry to go when I opened it up, and it had almost no filling just pastry. For the price in today's economy, I don't see any value here for what they are serving. Unfortunately, I would not go back.

Yummy salads. Wonderful variety of drink options both coffees and teas as well as beer and wine. The food menu is not huge but all the salads and sandwiches I have had have been tasty. It is a small cafe, so space can be at a premium. They have 2 lovely patios.

A hidden neighbourhood gem in Oak Bay.If there were a "Best Server in Victoria" contest, I'd recommend Carrie, who is the most hospitable and thoughtful waitress I've met anywhere.Housed in a charming, old shambling house -- perhaps like your beloved grandmother's home -- it comes with lots of healthy lunches and great lattés and such. And looking out over Windsor Park - a lovely view.JDK
Parking: Parking outside the place is often available. If not, there is plenty of parking across the street by the park.
Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating to all.
Wheelchair accessibility: They have it.

The Windsor Cafe is an excellent spot to grab a coffee or some lunch. When I arrived the cafe was pretty busy, but there is lots of seating inside and outside, so I was still able to find a spot. Despite being super busy, the staff were super friendly and seemed to know most of the locals by name. The food was delicious. My salad was fresh, tasty, and well priced. The coffee is also of excellent quality and was not too bitter.Overall, I would happily return to The Windsor Cafe in the future and I look forward to doing so.
