Love the staff, drinks, and food here! The cafe has a chill vibe, though it's not quiet. However, they have a sweet covered patio in the back which is quiet, and you can enjoy your meal/drinks in the company of all the little birds. One of my favourite spots for sure.

Local coffee shop vibes in the best way, somewhat hidden in the narrow brick alleys of Chinatown. Searching for a coffee to start my (one) day in Victoria brought me here since it's one of the first places that pops up when you search for coffee in the area.I was initially a little let down because when I didn't see the abundance of baked goods in person as I saw in some photos. But I guess that's because it was early afternoon, not the morning when I visited. I decided to just go with the drip coffee since there was a combo that came with their version of a bacon McMuffin (but much better). There were two options for the coffee and I went with the dark roast and for drip it was pretty good. The sandwich was bacon, egg, and cheese on an English Muffin. Very basic, but executed well and very hot. I also had the Cheddar & Onion scone which I asked them to warm up. I'm not sure if it's just me but it seems like baked goods around here are commonly served room temp. The scone was ok, had more onion than cheese flavor.Searching for the place was a little fun since you had to walk through the narrow brick alley to make your way there. Google Maps points you right way, so don't think you're lost when you are going through the narrow alleys. It's quite a spacious place with several communal tables as well as regular sized tables. There is also a good amount of patio seating. It's very cozy with its warm and brick interior.I could see this place being frequented by both locals and tourists. The staff was nice and they even brought the sandwich to my table. I could see myself coming back here when I'm back in Victoria. Hopefully, when I do I can catch them at a time when there are many baked goods.Cheers!

Si Kanghao is so good that he doesn't do anything at all. However, the quality of the coffee is average. There is an outdoor area behind the cafe where you can sit, which should be very pleasant when the weather is nice.

Best croissant we have had on the island. Really enjoyed having a morning coffee and baked treat. There was a lineup, but it moved fast. Even though there were no prices on the baked goods, which had me worried after ordering, everything was very affordable compared to other places in the area.

Excellent, perfectly delicious coffee and great selection. I was particularly impressed by the service. Our party had to leave most of our freshly made coffees behind because the neighbouring brunch establishment misjudged our table wait by 45 minutes. The staff at Union offered to remake our coffees at no charge when we got back. I was very touched (and extremely impressed!) by the generosity and service. Thank you for great coffee and good vibes! I wouldn’t think twice about coming back.

I greatly recommend this quaint coffee shop in the heart of Victoria, BC. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They even had a snack I could have that was gluten friendly and dairy free.
