We found this small, quaint restaurant quite by chance. We enjoyed the warm cozy ambiance, the food was excellent and the service was stellar. Highly recommend the Vis-a-Vis

Nice staff and location. We ordered the seafood for 2. Im a seafood guy and Id rather have a burger or tacos. It came on a single tray with a bed of ice. This might be good for the oysters and shrimp but definitely not good for the shredded crab that falls into the ice getting soggy and you have to fish it out waisting crab.The crab had no flavor either, the shrimp was overcooked, and oysters tasted bland and gritty. Definitely do not recommend. The drinks were good though.

The food we ordered was atrocious... We had "ratatouille" which was virtually rawish tomatoes with few eggplants smothered in katchupy sauce. To be clear we know how is this dish suppose to taste and how it is suppose to be cooked, but what was served was beyond awful and nothing at all related to ratatouille!! All the other lunch offers were basically burgers This place is also quite overpriced, , so all in all do yourself a favor and skip it.

We ate almost everything on the menu. The lamb was terrific and a healthy serving, steak tartar, oysters etc. Waiter is an ace, fast , knowledgeable and amusing. Price is say 130 per with wine and tip so fair for the product

Was excited to try this restaurant. Started with only able to get one choice of rose wine even though there were five on the menu. Food took over 1.5 hrs. To get. When it finally arrived every meal was luke warm. Vegetables were under cooked - potatoes still hard. Lamb was ordered med rare. Arrived med and cold. Very disappointing. Called next day to speak to manager. Left message. No return call. Won’t be returning to this restaurant.

Extremely loud, indifferent service - we refilled our own wine glasses, not much water offered and we ran out, food tasted just mediocre but was prettily presented. Ease up on the salt and let the real flavour of the food shine through. Expensive for what you got - one side veg, not much in the way of sauces or reductions (the hallmark of French food). Great wine list. They need to work on the acoustics, as with most Canadian restaurants. Guests seated next to us were extremely loud and the noise overall was piercing. No need to have music at such high volume in an already noisy environment. No hair cover on the guys preparing the appetizers - perhaps it's not required in BC. If you are aiming for a French restaurant vibe it needs to be better. I lived in France (studying cuisine) and this place is just not capturing the feel of a true French eatery.
