Stepped in for a couple of beers on an afternoon and we enjoyed everything we tried. We had a pumpkin smoochie, which was great, and I enjoyed the seasonal German and ice cold lager. Awesome beer, and a really cool place in market square

Carla and Jenny were helpful with not just their tasting flights but local ideas of places to go. Their locally sourced hops for the beers the make onsite are refreshing and have interesting flavours I think everyone would enjoy. Did not try any eats

We had a lovely time at Whistle Buoy over the course of our time visiting Victoria. The beer and vibes were delightful. The staff was very knowledgeable when discussing the quality local ingredients that go into the brewing process. The self bussing station was no issue for us, it allowed the staff to serve large groups promptly. The overall atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Can’t wait to go back!

This is my first Six Star review.

We passed by on a late Friday morning, but WBB didn't open till noon. Sooooo glad we circled back because these beers were FANtastic.

I asked the beer tender for his recommendation on the 3 best beers. He suggested a wet hop stout, a wheat and the stout on nitro. The wet hop was money. The wheat had a super fruity aroma. They both tasted great. Chances are your beers will be very different as they rotate beers consistently.

I chatted up Connor who turns out is a co owner. They have a lot of pride sourcing ingredients locally. I sample a couple of ipas and went with a very well executed hazy ipa over the west coast and their Coastal pale ale which is their flagship. It was good but man that hazy was worth another. Got my wife a stout. Let me tell you, Chills! That beer was so on point. Delicious. Creamy. Light yet roasty AF. These beers are way Legit. Beer Nerd Certified 100%

I asked Conner how he felt about Customers stealing glasses. They have 3 sizes and the 7oz was super cute and unique. He said it wasn't the worst thing to have his branded glasses in customers cupboards.

Plenty of room inside. Games. Clean restrooms. Fridges with cans to go and merch. We sat outside in a large covered patio. It was comfortable with good views of the market.

And on top of singing hi praise, my new beer buddy , owner extraordinaire COMPED me a glass. ok choking up now, kindness & gratitude. Whistle Buoy congrats on 5 years in biz, cheers to many many more!!!!!!

Mostly IPA’s and hop forward beers on the menu, would have loved to see a little more diversity in beers. We tried the stout and the Scandinavian ale.

Friendly bartender. Awesome patio.

Great beer brewed and served at a fun urban-feel location inside the brick square in the heart of Victoria. If they are still brewing it, try their Coastality Pale Ale, and order some tacos to go from Cafe Mexico in the same square ?

Really cool location without door seating. Their beers are really good and they have a good selection. There is a restroom if you are drinking here.

There is often a hotdog stand here that veggie dogs too.

If you are on a cruise ship, get off as fast as you can and head here. If you are delayed in getting off the ship, head to the other brewery that's a block away. The tours usually hit this one first. You can circle back here when the tour hits the other one.

Came to Whistle Buoy on a night they ended up hosting a pop up DJ event. The event itself was packed and looked like a lot of fun, but didn’t lend to the laid back brewery vibe we were looking for at the time so we stayed for a beer (which was great) then promptly left. Staff seemed nice, will have to come back another time.

Delicious beer.

Very nice ambiance. The Hazy IPA was quite good as well

Tried many breweries in Victoria and without a doubt this was the best. The Coasality Pale Ale has delicious hops that totally consume your taste buds and the Classic West Coast IPA is above any classics IPA I've ever had.

Great lager, cool retro vibes inside. Large patio in the plaza to enjoy. Lots of groups playing board games. Worth a visit if you are travelling and enjoy checking out small local breweries.

Whistle Buoy Brewing Company, nestled in Market Square downtown Victoria, is a wonderful place for delicious and well-crafted beer and cocktails. Each unique beer uses locally sourced ingredients and offers something for everyone’s tastes. They even have an incredible non-alcoholic hazy IPA which I thoroughly enjoyed. Whistle Buoy features an incredible pet-friendly and accessible patio that can be utilized year round. I’ve been there on a chilly fall evening and been quite comfortable!
There is a bright and inviting indoor area with a very relaxed vibe, perfect for board games or catching up with friends.
To top it off, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their product and the craft beer industry itself. I highly recommend checking out this Victoria gem!
