I hold this place dearly, it has a nice vive.
I loved it the Chris Webby, Ekoh, Grieves, Whitney Peyton, Rook, & Kryple concert was successful, magical, legendary, & wild it was an amazing turn out without a doubt! šÆšššš„°āļøš„³ššāš¤
Great bar staff and management for the Wesli show. Thanks team :)
After playing a recent show at the Wicket Hall, I am more than happy to share my experience⦠The staff and managers on all levels of the establishment showed true professionalism and went above and beyond to make our event a success! Hope to return soon again . David , Mojo Risenā¦. A Doors tribute ā¦..
March 21st. We went to the Wicket Hall for Rakata.
The bouncers were taking cash to let people 'skip the line', $10 if you had a ticket and $20 if you didn't. We had a ticket, but still had to wait half an hour to get in. When we asked them why they were doing that, as it was obviously illegal, they said it was not a scam, but a simple 'transaction', mocking at us and swearing all the time and talking to us in the most condescending way. They were also letting minors in in exchange for cash. The guys literally had a wad of bills in their pockets.
We tried to complain, but no one was letting us contact the managers or a complaint form. Definitely one of the sketchiest clubs ever. We'll never come back.
This place employs bouncers who scam people in line. We came here tonight for Rakata and this bouncer with a red beard was telling people with a smirk on his face that they could skip the half hour line by paying him $10 or $20 in cash. He wasnāt even checking IDās and I wouldnāt be surprised if he let in people underage. He wasnāt even scanning peopleās tickets at the side door.
I asked him why he thought he could scam people so he cussed me out and told me āin the real world, this is whatās known as a transaction. You pay me cash, I let you skip the line.ā It was painfully obvious that he wasnāt excepting anyone to call him on his little hustle and he blushed and couldnāt make eye contact while he tried to come up with an excuse.
No complaint forms either so thatās good. Donāt go here, the music sucks either way. And definitely donāt pay a bouncer a BRIBE to skip a line.
An advertised event should be about what it is advertised about. Very disappointed with the lack of consistency. Daft Punk should be Daft Punk š¤·āāļø would love some feedback on this from management in regards to why they did not vet the playlist to be accurate to their advertising.
Terrible management and policies. Not open to helping emerging promoters or putting on underground events. Only allowed to book events here if you can bring in hundreds of people or do a commercial top 40 type of event, then the rules and policies don't apply to you. No wonder it's for sale and changing names every couple years.
If I could give you ZERO starts I would.
Havenāt had a positive experience here in years. Management actively avoids booking queer run events. I used to perform here at sapphic dating nights until they made it clear that their management is not interested in supporting the local queer arts community or being an inclusive space. Also, the bouncers are ruthless every single time I go. Waiting in the line just to experience the terrible music and dingy atmosphere of the hall is not worth it.

can't find any queer events here anymore, asked around & apparently they just turn down any event offers from queer producers ??
good luck booking anyone decent now that queers & allies have seen your true colours, hope the regulars here like the kid rock & chet hanks kind of music
Really not a fan of how you have stopped booking queer friendly events. Our spaces are already shrinking and taking one more away from us is not helping in the least. Shame on you
Saw a metal show here and it was epic. The new layout is actually pretty good as a live music venue. The small mosh pit was really active, surprising for a Victoria crowd! Bar staff were friendly, bouncers were fine, no sign of the aggression so many other reviews mentioned. I hope more rock/metal acts get booked here.

Spent a good 8 hours or so in the pub with family coming and going. Lots of drink and food and the value was great, service excellent and food good.
