Just ordered for the first time tonight. The reviews are correct very delicious Japanese Curry! I love curry in general but to try it their way was superb. It was like Japanese chicken strips with a southern gravy over rice.... I mean that is the best combo! Wow wow wow! Deff will be ordering again soon! One question where is the beef broccoli looking dish on your skip main pic?! I was looking for it but couldn't find ! Thank you for a great meal

Checked out Sakura Japanese Cuisine Sushi Bar & Grocery to grab some sushi grade salmon and other Japanese items. Decent selection of tea, sauces, rice, noodles, snacks, etc. Didn't try any of their food items but the "to go" selection had bentos, katsu, tempura, kara'age and sushi rolls. Bought ~1/2 pound of frozen sushi grade salmon ($29.85/lb), a bag of sushi rice and spicy tuna musubi ($4.00). Reminds me of a mini version of Fujiya Foods.

Everything I ordered was fantastic. It was very delicious. Especially sauces are fresh and rich. As a few of other reviews, it would be nice to be able to choose spiciness. And it was a bit spicy for me; however, that could be just me being sesetive to certain taste. Thanks for making awesome Friday night by offering amazing food.

T’was a most stunning Saturday afternoon. I mix a few litres of fuel in my 2006 Yamaha Zuma and point it south down Quadra in search of the elusive Yo-Kare! Upon entering this fine establishment I was greeted by the friendliest of cashiers, who promptly handed me a menu and gave me time to carefully consider my order. Among several worthy candidates I settled on the Katsu Kare, and was treated to a generous portion of authentic and flavour packed curry. The three distinct components of this dish were all individually cooked to perfection and combined to create a symphony of flavours that inspired visions of Mt. Fuji on a crisp May afternoon. I left with a full stomach and a full heart, as well as a reusable bag of affordable groceries from the land of the rising sun. Wishing eternal success and prosperity for Yo-Kare! for generations to come.

Yes. So amazing for Victoria to have some quality Katsu. ♥️♥️

I got the beef teriyaki rice bowl. It was burnt and dry with barely any sauce. I went to ask for soy sauce to add flavor I was told it doesn't come with it even after telling her the food didn't taste very good and neede sauce. I still had to pay 20 cents for soy sauce, The issue is not about cost but poor quality and service.

Sushi to die for. Superb, fresh and authentic Japanese food here. Very good value for money and lovely staff. Like a like bit of Tokyo on Quadra. Consistently outstanding in every way. Thank you so much and happy holidays????

I got the beef curry, the flavour was excellent, but for $22 on Uber Eats, the portion of curry is way to small.

Ordered Chicken Katsu Kate, Katsu Don, and Ebi Furai.Good quality food, the Ebi Furai is very crunchy, and great curry flavour with a hint of sweetness (a little bit too sweet and not spicy enough for me personally).Overall I had a very good experience with Yo-Kare! The reason why not a 5 stars is delivery only and cannot choose the spiciness of the curry.

This is the best Japanese curry I’ve ever had!! I tried the karaage and katsu kare and both were amazing. My favorite is the karaage. It has the perfect crisp coating, super juicy and flavorful overall.Personally, I wish they had the usual potato and carrot chunks in there but the curry itself is already amazing on its own so I don’t mind at all.Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Victoria now! Its perfect for the weather right now and I would eat here everyday if I could ^^
