Taste of the food was very poor. Sunomono and agedashi tofu was particularly awful. They just overload a bunch of frozen tiny shrimp to the sunomono. Tofu was served and fried hilariously bad. They were cut into long blocks of all different sizes. None of the tofu was cut evenly or in a straight lines it was very funny to everyone at the table hahah.. Not the best sushi restaurant to go to in town. I have a feeling ownership changed because the food taste and presentation was simply not good.. won’t be returning

I ordered a takeout from this restaurant, which included a sashimi dish with seven pieces. When I got home and opened the box, there were only six pieces. I called the restaurant, but the staff and chef refused to admit the mistake. I suggested checking the surveillance footage, and only then did they admit it. They arrogantly said they would give me an extra piece next time I visit. It was a very unpleasant dining experience. The service quality of the staff is terrible.

When we're on the North Shore and have a craving for high quality Japanese eats, the first place we usually turn to is Bene Sushi.
Featured here: Red Tuna & Avocado Salad Seafood Yakisoba Popeye Roll Avocado Roll
The ingredients here are always very fresh and top notch. The Popeye Roll is a Vegetarian roll and this was our first time trying it. I loved this roll and would happily eat it again! The Inari in this roll gave it a subtle sweetness without being excessively sweet. One of the most delightful Vegetarian sushi rolls I've ever had!
Bene Sushi never ceases to impress me with their Avocado Roll. It's one of the simplest rolls you could order from a Japanese restaurant, but they do it sooo well at this restaurant. The avocado is always a lovely green colour, without a hint of brown in it. Plus the roll is always packed with huge chunks of the avocado and not too much rice surrounding the avocado.
Psst...not featured here, but we tried the Unagi Flame Roll on a previous visit and it was spectacular! I do recommend giving it a try!
