I understand that many restaurant people criticize me for not giving out higher ratings. However, I believe that a 3-star rating is an excellent one. For me, it’s all about the product as described. The food was delicious, considering we only ordered two dishes. The price was very reasonable. The restaurant was also clean. However, I must mention that finding parking spaces can be a challenge. If you are in west Vancouver and looking for a quick bite, I recommend the spicy cumin noodles.

Went for lunch and got the pork burgers (one per person), the shrimp dumplings (so good!), scallion noodles, and boba. We were thinking of taking some leftover noodles home, but they were so good we finished them all. Also the tea they served was very nice. Not the usual 'house tea'. Tasted like a peach oolong.
We'll definitely be going back.

Don’t know what to say, didn’t like the food, the manager gave me a why are u here vibe, the decor was depressing. Maybe this place is really authentic, so don’t look at this review, it was too authentic for us, even their attitude was authentic ;). The dumplings were too thick, the noodle soups lack flavor.

Lao Cai Chinese Cuisine is an exceptional choice for those seeking a truly authentic Chinese dining experience. Their hand-made dumplings and noodles are a real highlight, crafted with such care that you can immediately taste the difference. The freshness and texture of the pasta and dumplings are second to none.
Also, I learned from the staff that they source their spices directly from China to ensure the food preserves its traditional flavors. So, if you're looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, particularly hand-made dumplings and noodles with genuine flavors, Lao Cai is a must-visit. Highly recommended! :D

Wow the food here is out of this world. If you like noodles you're gonna love this place. I ordered on Ubereats and it was delicious. The last time I had authentic Chinese food was in Nigeria! I ordered the spicy hot oil noodle with beef, tomato and egg sauce, the noodles were chewy and bouncy, the beef so juicy and tender, the bean sprouts were soft and crunchy and the bok Choy went perfectly with the noodles!!! I also ordered the onion and beef boiled dumplings and the juices/broth bursts into your mouth with every bite. Finally, I tried their dirty tea and surprisingly it was sooooo sweet and delicious, definitely beats regular bubble tea from Chattime. All the dishes were 10/10 and I would highly recommend trying the food. Can't wait to try other menu items. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏

Vancouver offers plenty of East Asian dining options, but this restaurant is truly something special. With parking available, it's easily accessible for those living in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, and downtown. The moment I walked in, the decor and cozy atmosphere made me feel as if I had been transported straight to China.
The food is authentically prepared, a refreshing change from the typical "NYC Chinese food" you might be used to. Our server was polite and took the time to explain each dish, the menu options, and even shared stories about the regions near Tibet where they source their unique spices. The handmade pasta was thick and flavorful—nothing like the ones you'd find in a supermarket.
One of my favorite dishes was the "bread with shredded pork" (see the pic). Sorry for not remembering the exact name, but it was absolutely delicious! Even the washrooms were clean, which is always a plus in my book.
My only complaint is that it's a bit far from Richmond (the Asian hub in vancouver metropolitan region). However, I heard they're planning to open a new location there soon, which is great news.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Vancouver! We had a variety of dishes and the quality of the food was very high. My favorite dish was the dumplings which they make everyday from scratch and the hot-oil noodles! The cucumber salad and the sweet and sour pork ribs also delish. Truly one of the best dinning experiences, hard to pick just one dish :)

Shaanxi people are really good at making pasta!
🐑Must order【Cumin Lamb Noodles】
This is a blind spot in the category of hand-pulled noodles and mixed noodles. How many people have to order depending on how many people are eating! ! ! ! ! So delicious, the noodles are kneaded so well. Soft, strong and springy.
🍅【Noodles with tomato, egg and oil】
It's delicious, made by the elders who are the best cooks in the family.
🦐【Leek and Shrimp Dumplings, Boiled】or 【Vegetarian Filling, Boiled】
First of all, the skin is definitely Num 1, the filling is very juicy and full of flavor, and the shrimp is used well.
We usually order sour radish and duck soup, which is a domestic taste. Brother Mao’s soup base haha. The cold skin is a little bit hard.
In the afternoon, there were two particularly handsome young foreign waiters who could communicate with you in very standard Mandarin with Chinese accents. For the first time, you were stunned. Just because of this accent and cumin mutton noodles, you must try it!

They need to work on their service. Slamming dishes and menu's on the table. Serving chipped glasses. Delayed service, even the 2 customers behind us were served a head of us. Constantly, waving them down for service. Like for some water and tea. Omg we ask for tea. We got tea and no cup, then the server ran away. Now, the food was ok, nothing that I would crave for. Overall, bad experience. But, did liked how they were repeatly cleaning the tables for the next customers.
