I've been coming to this restaurant for several years, and it's wonderful to see the business getting better and better. I believe that's closely related to the increasingly authentic and delicious food, as well as the warm and genuine service. Whether it's the lady manager or the friendly, handsome young man, their kindness and sincerity always come from the heart. Every visit is a pleasure.

Good meal. Good services. Good advice on new dinners trying on new dishes. Great flexibility on asking how the food is cooked and serviced. Been there 3 times in a row, still gonna be there next time visiting Vancouver.

Eating in Richmond always means agonizing over too many choices. But once I’m on the North Shore, that problem disappears — Lao Cai is always my go-to whenever I’m passing through West Van. The hand-pulled lamb is melt-in-your-mouth tender, the big bowl noodles have great chew and flavor, and the sweet and sour pork ribs come out crispy outside, tender inside, with the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The food quality is consistently great, portions are generous, and prices are fair. Highly recommend and you won’t be disappointed!

I was disappointed with my recent experience. I visited this restaurant on both Saturday and Sunday with friends, hoping to enjoy the food. Unfortunately, afterward I experienced what appeared to be food poisoning.

During the visit, I also noticed that one of the dishes had black residue and what looked like dried rice stuck to it, which raised concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene and dishwashing standards. I hope the owner takes cleanliness more seriously to ensure customers are served with properly cleaned dishes.

This experience also reminded me of an incident in 2024. While speaking Mandarin, the owner made what I understood to be a derogatory comment about LGBTQ+ people, saying, “There are a lot of them here—so disgusting.” Because I understood the language, I found the remark offensive and chose not to leave a tip.

Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

The best lamb dishes I've had in a long time. The lamb was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful, practically falling off the bone. It had been slow-cooked to perfection, with rich natural flavors that didn't need seasoning.

It came with delicious dry spice mix on the side. The chili powder is a perfect accompaniment of the dish.

The portions were large. I'll come back to order it again.

A small bowl of noodles, a big bowl of happiness. 🥹❤ I’ve been coming here for years, and the food and service have always been consistently amazing. Even though it’s always busy, they never compromise on quality. Always a happy meal!

Everything is amazing. Even the leftovers. I air fried the dumplings and they were still just as good.

One piece of advice: bring your scissors for the noodles because they are LONG & slippery with the plastic chopsticks!

One of our favorite Chinese restaurants! The dumplings and noodles are absolutely amazing easily some of the best we’ve had. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Friendly staff, great service, and a wonderful dining experience every time. Highly recommended!

Very good dumplings and noodles … and very tasty tea. Had a couple dishes for lunch, both of which were delicious. Will be back soon to try more — and to grab a bubble tea.

Went there with friends and family for late lunch. The place was very accommodating for our large families including a baby.

Food was great and tasted very good. Pricing was very acceptable and their special menu had some promotions you could try alternative to their regular menu. A solid 5.

The service was acceptable considering an Asian establishment. They also did hand pulled noodles for us prior to cooking in our hotpot. A high 4 for service.

The atmosphere was great and the interior had Chinese restaurant vibes which gave it the authenticity of its food. Washroom were fairly acceptable for these Asian restaurants. Overall a low 5.

Honestly not bad for a Chinese place and would consider dining again when I'm North Vancouver.
