The Grillegd Cheese sandwich was not as I expected It was a soggy slice of bread with the cheese melted hard on the outside Very greasy and unappetizing The Squash soup was good but very small The breakfast sandwich was good
After a day walking all over Whistler (including Lost Lake), we just wanted to sit in a quiet spot to talk about the day and enjoy a beer. Perfect. This little room behind the bookstore was so comfortable and relaxing. Great idea! It is off the beaten path so it felt so peaceful.
Lovely little cafe tucked behind a book shop but don't think they are connected. Looked like a good menu but as I was after lunchtime, I think many items had sold out. Ordered something to eat and drink. The server clearly either didn't hear me or didn't understand my British accent, as the drink never happened - just ignored. Such a shame. Cheese melt/toastie was good though but the service was really slow - I thought they'd forgotten about me to be honest! Bit disappointed overall but the food was good - once it arrived!
A great option for a quick convenient grab and go breakfast. We ordered coffee and breakfast sandwiches to go as we were in a rush for a tour. They also had a cute sitting area inside if you have more time to relax. There’s not many options open early and this was a perfect find!
Best place to get breakfast in town! Coffee and tea selection is good, too. I've chilled here many times on my laptop for hours sometimes and it's very cozy in the morning. I work at a hotel in Whistler and whenever a guest asks me for a breakfast selection, I always refer them to Gone!I also love that you can earn points for a free coffee.
Really like this spot, it’s small but they make it work. The food is good and the also it’s portioned well. Also one thing I also enjoy is that they open early.
Firstly, thank you to the good people of TripAdvisor. While researching our upcoming holiday in Whistler, I made a note of this place. On our first morning, my brother-in-law had plans for us for breakfast, but it turned out the place had closed down. Wandering down the street looking for somewhere else, I spotted the sign for Gone Eatery, remembered the name and that it was behind the bookstore. What we didn't realise was it's literally behind the store. You have to go through the bookstore (we tried outside first). The breakfasts were great. So good we went back the next morning. My husband had high praise for the sweet waffles and I loved my breakfast bowl (with bacon the first day and with sausage the second). The only slight negative is that my brother-in-law and I found the drip coffee rather weak, so the second morning had an Americano with an extra shot, which was about the right strength for me. But that is just personal taste. The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. Overall, highly recommended. And it opens at 7.30 - you can get in through the bookstore even when it's closed (the bookshop areas are just gated off).
A Whistler "hidden" gem if there ever was one and the best bang for your buck in all of Whistler IMO. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup which easily satisfied two meals. Note that the sandwich comes with cheese on the outside, but it can be ordered sans outer cheese.
Fast and friendly service! The breakfast was delicious and fresh. 10/10 recommend :)
Well I’ve been recommended to try their grilled cheese ? ? as the best ever. So we made a trip from Vancouver up to Whistler to give it a go. I must say I have eaten a lot of grilled cheese in my life and this surely was undoubtedly the best grilled cheese ever!!! It’s worth the trip for sure. Would have given 5 stars however service was a little non responsive. But the store manager saved the day, Rebecca jumped in to clean dirty tables and promptly get us a glass of water. She was amazing. Serving staff didn’t seem to enthusiastic ?♂️

I give three star just for the place and friendly staff. But it’s not clean. Also, I ordered a hot chocolate with my breakfast. It was not taste good.
Located in a bookstore. Great fast service and food was excellent. Fresh and tasty!
As some reviewers have mentioned, it can be a bit tricky to find this eatery, but if you do find it, all I can say is "lucky you". I've only been here twice (both times mid-week when it was not very busy) and both times I ordered the paleo breakfast. Wow! So good! The staff are friendly, the coffee is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and as I mentioned, the breakfast is delicious!Five well deserved stars for this delightful eatery!
I'm not sure what happened, I had a pad thai here 4 years ago and it was awesome. The one I had today was horrible, definitely the worst one I've ever had. Drowned in a nasty sauce and the chicken was like some frozen chunks you would find in a $10 bag from No Frills. Wish I had nicer words but reviews are about honesty.
Local recommendation which was the best option at the end of my adventure day. I really liked the location and the hidden spot behind the bookstore. Only had a chai latte and a cookie but tasted exactly right! Nice staff and even nicer spot&atmosphere - I’ll come back when in Whistler!
