I dont try to write negative reviews, but I had one of my worst restaurant experiences this past weekend at Grill & Vine. It started with a 10 minute wait to even get our waters to the table. And another 15 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered our food right away as they had a large group in. Fortunate that came quickly, but it was far from correct. I ordered the Ling cod, and it arrived with all of the sides for the steelhead. I pointed this out to our server, who proceeded to argue with me. He then went and got the menu and I, and sure enough. I was correct, so he took my dish back to the kitchen to be corrected. It came out with very little broth and the mussels had not been cleaned and were gritty. One of the others at the table ordered the bolognese. The ragu came out as meat and pasta, no sauce at all. But the biggest disappointment was the steak. Another person has ordered the 10oz striploin medium rare. It came out very well done, so it was sent back. The next steak came with the wrong sauce on it and it ended up being so blue rare it was inedible. So the steak was sent back again... the manager and server came over while the 3rd one was cut into. It also arrived rare, and with the wrong sides. The manager tried to argue that it was fine, but it was not. I can understand a busy night with large groups, but to get a steak wrong 3 times is insane. Fortunately, it was taken off the bill. I can definitely say as someone who goes to Whistler a few times a year that this is a restaurant I won't be returning to.

My wife and I were in Whistler for a private client retreat and wound up eating dinner at the Grill & Vine for all 3 nights of our stay. The food was delicious and the environment was terrific. One person that stood out was a server named Oscar. He has this amazing Australian accent and served our dinner party powerfully and playfully. Bridgette was outstanding too with her service along with another woman who was our server the first night (apologies for not rememebring your name).

The service was extremely slow. We ordered as soon as we sat down, yet our drinks didn't arrive until 20 after. Our appetizers came in 30 mins after that, and dinner arrived almost 1.5 hours after appetizers. While the food was delicious, the lack of service concluded that we are not going back. The restaurant was semi-full (not extremely busy) and there wasn't a long wait for walk-ins. The manager made excuses to justify the lack of attentive service, didn't acknowledge the long wait, nor did they apologize. Nearby tables also complained but the manager did the same.

Too limited of a menu. Food was good, service excellent, but we had a terrible draft being sat by the patio door. I asked if we could be moved to an empty booth, but it seemed like an incovience to the host, so we stayed where we were. Our second time here, but just not that exciting of a restaurant.

Was a bit reluctant since hotel restaurant can be kind of Meh, but this place was a pleasant surprise. Very tasty salad with a cast iron chicken breast. I would definitely go back to try their other dishes.

This is the restaurant where you have breakfast when you stay at West in Whistler. The selection of food was not huge but decent. You have what you can think of for breakfast. They can make you an omelet based on your choice of ingredients. As a tea drinker, being able to have Chai Latte and Matcha Latte for hotel breakfast was a bonus. They tasted quite good, too!Another highlight was they had a few options for honey at the yogurt bar area. They were all yummy!Nice environment, too!

The portion sizes were small. Maybe appropriate for a woman's appetite. Big day skiing means bug appetites. The cast iron skillet chicken is small (although good) and the pasta bolognese just had ground beef on it with no real sauce (not real good). Both were disappointing in different ways. The key lime and chocolate deserts were good, however. I wouldn't come back for dinner unless you cant get a reservation anywhere else, as what happened to us.

Extremely mediocre hotel restaurant. Food was fine, wine prices were offensive. Kids everywhere, restaurant was about 30% full. Many other, better options in whistler village but if you are staying at the Westin and want something easy, Grill & Vine is there for you in all its mediocrity.

Service was absolutely horrendous. We had a party of 8 for dinner and restaurant was about half full. It took a full hour to get our food. We asked about it several times and were told it's coming, it's coming. Our server was lovely but it was clear that it was out of her control. We asked to speak to a manager. He apologized and offered us two desserts. I told him "we are a party of 8, so 2 doesn't work". He said he was going to go talk to the chef, disappeared and never returned. We proceeded to eat our meal after it finally came (it was meh). I tracked him down when we were leaving to tell him how disappointed we were which seemed to have no impact. I reminded him that he said he was going to talk to the chef and come back and he said oh yeah, I meant to. But you didn't. You disappeared. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Upon our arrival the staff at the reception desk told us that we would only have 75 minutes left (we were 15 minutes late) for our NYE dinner, although the confirmation said we would have the table for 2 hours (less the 15 minutes of course). She then called the supervisor, who was really helpful and he found a solution for us. Table service and the supervisor were great and the food (buffet-style) was decent, however they could have used some table cloth for the buffet tables, etc. In the end it felt a bit like a school cafeteria.

I was a bit disappointed... the service was a bit slow, the food was uneven, some of the best duck I have ever had, but the appetizers were not good, one was so salty, another was not as described... overall, the food was only moderate for the price. Also, a few of the items on the somewhat focused menu were not available, and we were not a late seating. If you are out, you should say so before ordering, not come back after and say it is gone. Suggestion, print menus that match the offering. What bothered me the most was the lighting, it was overly illuminated. Very bright, way too bright for dinner, it was like eating in a cafeteria. Not a nice setting for an evening meal. Overall, moderate at best and we wanted a special evening, a nice dinner and ended up wishing we had gone to other suggested spots in the village. Westin can do better.

I was a little disappointed when we walked in, having never been there. A little too bright, no table clothes. Not their fault that I had wrong expectations. But the all the staff was great! Our waiter, Lindsey, treated us very well. I had a great cocktail I've never heard of, Dilema. All our food was delicious and very well seasoned. Beat salad, garden salad were both exceptional. Duck, lamb shank, mushroom ravioli and bolognese were all delicious. All in our party were pleasantly pleased and will go back.

The biggest drawback on Dec 26 was the very loud noise level from the music in the lounge next door, as there was an event! Otherwise, the service was courteous and efficient, food was good, but the prices were quite high.
