I was very happy to introduce my friends to Il Caminetto, and the food and service did not disappoint!
With the six of us, we originally planned to order pasta because we love the lobster linguini. However, our server Sabrina suggested the Fiorentina porterhouse and that was the best suggestion ever! The meat was so tender and grilled to perfection, better than the porterhouse at other places. We also ordered some pasta - the gnochi and the bucatini. Both were good and we particularly loved the bucatini. (My daughter had the bucatini 2 summers ago here and remembered it well so we ordered it again this time.)
Sabrina provided fantastic service, and we were also greeted by the restaurant director Jeff at our table. All in all, the food, service, and ambience made for a great evening with our friends. Thank you Il Caminetto! We will definitely return when we visit Whistler next time.

We love this place but we’ve realized that we can only afford it during the offseason ( when they have the 3 course dinner option ) when the prices deflate ? 19.00 for a 5 oz house red is the most expensive we’ve ever seen and we live around here. Please fine a solution for the non rich locals that love your restaurant.

The food and service are always exceptional at Il Caminetto! My husband hosted his 40th birthday party in the private room and had an amazing experience.
When we visit as a couple, with friends, or as a family, we’ve always had amazing food and service. Our family is mostly omnivorous, but we all agree you’ll find the best vegetable dishes and
Vegetarian main dish (cauliflower steak) in Whistler at Il Caminetto.
On our most recent visit, our server, Mark, was exceptionally engaging…he even honored an approaching birthday for us unsolicited. If you have a smallish group, we highly recommend one of the round booth tables!

I love Il Caminetto and will always recommend my friends visiting Whistler to try it for an excellent Italian culinary experience. I feel like you can tell a lot about a restaurant by their bread. That is my favorite part of this establishment. Fantastic bread (is it made on site? who cares when it is so good, ha.) Their special olive oil and balsamic is to die for. It's the simple things in life that are beautiful and good. My favorite place in Whistler.

Extremely disappointed with the service i received from the hostess. Walked in last night with my family hoping to take our chances. We first spoke with Mikayla who was happy to accomodate and try and help us and was beginning to explain putting us on a list. But the other hostess yelled over the top of her “no”. I have never felt more uncomfortable. I wasn’t even speaking to the other hostess there was no need for her to interrupt and she has no understanding of the situation. I understand that it would’ve been fully packed and we were only hoping to try. But a little hospitality and respect and manners goes a long way. Thankfully once the other hostess left, mikayla got us on a waitlist and we were able to come in at the end of the night. All in all the food, bar staff and their service was amazing.

My family had a wonderful experience on New Year’s Eve at this establishment. We ordered a nice bottle of champagne, caviar, the menu works. However, I attempted to walk in the next night and not only was I told there was no available seating, but the hostesses’ attitude was such that we were not worthy of their establishment. It will be the last time we dine there. We come back to Whistler every year from Hawaii. What a shame
Truly exceptional dining experience. World class food and gracious hosts.

I really wanted to like Il Caminetto, especially given its strong 4.5 rating and beautiful, modern-yet-warm interior. The menu offers a broad, North Americanized take on Italian dishes, and the setting feels upscale and inviting. This was my second visit—and unfortunately my second disappointing experience.
Despite the pleasant ambiance, the execution fell short again. We were served (and charged for) a bottle of San Pellegrino we didn’t order. After a simple bread-and-olive-oil starter, it took 90 minutes for our mains to arrive. My daughter ordered potato-based gnocchi but received a ricotta version instead; the manager initially insisted potato gnocchi didn’t exist before eventually acknowledging the mistake. By then, it was too late to remake the dish. Two other mains—the chicken and the bolognese—arrived cold.
Service throughout the evening was inattentive, with long stretches where no one checked on us, and the food only appeared after I complained. For a meal costing over $200 CAD, the experience was far below expectations.
I’m glad others seem to enjoy this place, but after two visits, it’s clear it’s not for us.

Absolutely love Il Caminetto! An amazing Italian spot in the heart of the village with beautiful urban décor and a great lounge for cocktails. The food is incredible, always evolving with seasonal pairings, and the service is exceptional, with thoughtful details that make each visit feel special.

Our server Sabrina is the best. She provided fantastic customer service and I would say made our night meaningful. I told her we prefer have everything quick and she bring all things promptly. I had high expectation on the food and I would say not the very best one I ever had but overall still good. Risotto I rate number one in this restaurant. They also offered cute birthday cookies for my son for his birthday. Customer service is 10/10.
