Please save your time and money and don’t go to this place. Service was awful and slow. Food was okay not great. Every table was complaining about how slow the service was. It took them about 15 minutes to bring us water and they never came by to refill unless we asked. They messed up our order and brought it to another table. We tried to wave them down (telling them it was our food) but bz no one was paying attention they brought it back to the kitchen. We finally got their attention to tell them about our food that was erroneously brought back to the kitchen, and they proceeded to bring us the same food which now cold. Cold tempura and cold gyoza. To top it off, we ordered the shabu shabu for 3 people (mind you it’s not cheap). They only brought meat for two people. I told her there’s no way this is a three person portion, and she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and that they weigh the meat portions to be exact. I then saw a two person table next to me order the same shabu shabu and their meat portion looked exactly like ours (which was supposed to be for 3 people). I waved down our server to ask her again if she could kindly check with the kitchen if they prepared a 2 person or 3 person portion and guess what? It was a 2 person portion. They had messed up our order all night!Had I not said anything they would have charged us for 3!! By this time we were so annoyed and asked for the check. We proceed to walk to the restaurant across the way bz my kids were still hungry. Tiny portions, bad service, and ridiculous prices. No thank you.

To sushi chefs,
It is highly unprofessional to speak negatively in front of customers seated at the sushi counter. While you may assume that customers do not understand Japanese, I understood every word that was said.

Please remember that such behavior not only reflects poorly on you but also diminishes the experience for your patrons. Professionalism and respect are essential in creating an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere.

We mistook how hard it was to get a reservation for a high quality restaurant. The flavors in our rolls was mediocre. I don’t recommend avoiding this restaurant unless you are a sushi snob, but don’t expect this to be your favorite. Staff is excellent. prices fair. Interesting authentic Japanese soda with a marble inside!?

Absolutely delicious restaurant with super-fresh ingredients. The tuna sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the shabu shabu beef was so very delicious. It came with a giant plate of veggies which made me so happy, given fresh vegetables are typically hard to come by on the mountains. Beef tataki was very substantial and delicious.

There were quite a few local beers on offer as well to try.

The restaurant is cozy and super busy. Service is a little slow. I'd suggest making a reservation if you don't want to miss out.

Overall, it was a delicious and warming meal. I would definitely visit again.

A must-try while in Whistler! KA-ZE is always a pleasant option when contemplating dinner, while being in a convenient area! The service is always incredible and the staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful and optimistic. Not to mention the comforting food - I highly recommend all of the Nabes as well as the Agedashi Tofu and sashimi.

Me and two of my friends went to share hot pot and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were amazing and our server helped walk us through what to do and how long to wait. It was so beautiful and even tastier. The whole restaurant was also very cozy and had such a relaxing atmosphere. 10/10 I would highly recommend to anyone!

I came to Whistler. I happened to find a Japanese restaurant. It is located on the first floor of the Westin Hotel. I went in and found that it was truly Japanese food, sushi, tempura, Saikyoyaki, and udon. No matter what I ate, it tasted just like I would eat at home in Japan. It's the best restaurant. ❤️

We like coming here for an early and quick dinner after skiing before heading back to Vancouver.

They open at 5 pm; if you come early, you might be able to walk in.

I like they are more homey - nothing fancy - but still traditional style in terms of their interior.

We have been here multiple times. We have tried a few of their appetizers and sushi rolls. Food has been consistently high standards. The eggplant turned out to be unexpectedly food while the dumplings were fairly standard. Sushi rolls were all quite nice.

They do not have a lot of desserts to choose from. For some reason, green tea ice cream was out for a couple of times. We had tried mango ice cream, which was quite refreshing; and green tea cheesecake, which was a pleasant surprise. I guess we will need to keep coming back for green tea ice cream.

The service was good.

The price was reasonable. They have more expensive items/ sets land we will come back to try more.

Parking: There is paid parking at the Westin Hotel.
