A great go to place for breakfast. Friendly, fast and tasty. Kid friendly and just enjoyable. The dirty bowl is our family favourite

Horrible service. Last winter I remember how rude this Australian dude was… Made me feel unwelcome in my own home.
Breakfast Chicken and Waffles is to die for. You get Chicken, Waffles, Cranberries and Hazelnuts on it, alongside country gravy or maple syrup. Absolutely the best chicken and waffles ive ever had. This restaurant is highly recommended. Atmosphere is really nice as well. Would love to come back sometime and try other meals.

Stayed at the Fairmont and had dinner here one night. Delicious and fresh. The grilled corn was super yum; my table asked for more. Amazing warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream scoops for dessert. Excellent place for a healthy, filling meal.

Where is the avocado in the smashed avocado? Also not sure why the minimum tip option is 15%. Too much.

I was staying just across from Portobello so it became my regular go-to. The pastries are incredibly delicious and their mochas/hot chocolates are a must try ! They actually use real Belgian dark chocolate and melt it - so divine !! I also liked their BBQ chicken, macaroni and potato salad. The staff is super friendly and nice. There is usually a line up here. It's a pretty casual environment and they also have outside seating as well. Do try if your in Whistler !!

Food is ok, nothing special. Customer service is a different story. The staff taking orders is oblivious and does not know how to cater to customers. After waiting in line for ten minutes while assisting customers who arrived before us (not a problem) the order takers then proceeded to assist walk up patrons in front of us. When we asked, they just looked at us and shrugged, then when they finished with the ‘walk-ups’ they stopped taking orders just leaving us standing there. Very frustrating. Not a good initial experience

Totally worth it! The chicken taste like that famous chalet, tender and smooth, and so fragrant. The tomato soup also super fresh and tangy, pretty solid. It was worth the wait

I had the pleasure of being served by Tom during my visit to Portobello in Whistler, and he absolutely elevated the experience. From the moment I walked in, Tom was warm, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic—not just about the food, but about making sure every guest felt welcome.
He struck that rare balance between professionalism and personality: quick with recommendations, patient with questions, and somehow always one step ahead of what I needed.
In a place known for its stunning scenery and world-class hospitality, Tom still managed to stand out. If you're heading to Portobello, I hope you're lucky enough to be served by him. He’s a credit to the team and a reminder of how great service can make a great meal unforgettable.

I visited Portobello today and I had a great experience. Me and my friend were unsure what to try from the menu for food and drink. We spoke to Tom who was the server and he made great recommendations for the Italian soda's and two of the signature sandwiches. It was a great treat!
