Sadly, since Vail has taken over the standard of service and food has decreased. With that, the prices have gone up. The mac and cheese portions are now smaller, the product has gone downhill, and the price has gone up. The plus is you can get around this by picking up food off the mountain and taking it up with you. Which I have started doing in the last few years. The staff are disorganized and are not as friendly as has been the case in previous years. Case in point was no cups for coffee at Pikas.

Five stars aren't enough to describe our recent visit to the Roundhouse Lodge! We were lucky enought to bump into a chap on the way into the restaurant who turned out to be the Sous Chef, Stuart. This jovial young man (who turned out to be a fellow Aussie), made us feel welcome from the get-go and also made some menu suggestions, all to which exceeded our expectations, we can't wait to dine here again throughout the season.

The view and atmosphere here are absolutely stunning, perfect for a relaxing experience. However, the service and food left much to be desired. The quality of the food was disappointing, probably around 2/5, especially considering how overpriced everything was.
I asked if they could do a half-and-half tender chicken option, and while the server initially said yes, I was charged much more at the cash. The meal, with a drink, ended up costing $37, which felt excessive for what was offered. When I pointed this out, the cashier was unwilling to adjust the bill, which left me feeling frustrated. Beautiful location, but the food and service don't justify the price.
Breathtaking views, good service, poor cafeteria food at insanely high prices. I can't speak for the special dinner they offer as I did not try their fancier options, though I imagine this is good. If you want to have something simple, however, I recommend you eat before coming here, as the cafeteria food is not good.
That said, one thing I really did enjoy, apart from the stunning views, was the bear sculpture shown in the photos below, which aptly captures the fun, laid-back Whistler mountaintop feel.

Food is gross! Over priced! Cheeseburger tasted like garbage! It seemed like they had them frozen for like a year and the beef was cheap and so bad looking and really bad taste, had a bite a threw it after.
