If you are considering hosting a group dinner at the cellar, do it! An absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish the staff were extremely accommodating and the service was extraordinary. They went above and beyond to make my birthday feel extra special with sweet personalized touches and encouraged us to party the evening away! We definitely have a rowdy group and Andrea was especially sweet and patient with us even when we were quite drunk. I can’t imagine a more beautiful space and special evening and we will definitely be recommending it to anyone we know who will be visiting Whistler.
Amazing experience. Came 6 years ago and had to revisit this trip. Did not disappoint. Adrienne was fantastic. Carpaccio for app and Sablefish for dinner were delish. Lemon tart a great finish. Great ambiance and vibe. Would love to return.
Really good casual restaurant, not too fancy but can still dress up! Starters was better than the main dishes. We had beef carpaccio and octopus. The beef carpaccio looked huge (covered the whole plate) but thinly sliced and delicately spiced. The octopus was not as crunchy as it could have been - a bit on the chewy side. The seafood tower was okay, nothing special with the usual oysters and prawns. The portions are on the large side (well, its neighbour is the USA and I guess much of its clientele would be Americans who are expecting quantity).
Every time my wife and i are in Whistler we go to Araxi (usually twice). The food and service are fantastic. the oysters are exceptional - such a great selection of quality fresh oysters. beautiful setting with a competent, friendly staff. Even during the crazy time between christmas and new years they were able to work us in. if you are a foodie, enjoy oysters and appreciate a good wine list, Araxi is a must. i feel like when you ask around about great restaurants in Whistler, not every recommendation hits the mark, but Araxi does.....every time!
Araxi has not evolved. The food was probably good and creative 10 to 15 years ago but it is just ok. To quote my dinner companion on one appetizer, "that is the ugliest, worst tasting and most expensive tostada I've ever had."
Xmas eve dinner Booking time was 9.15 pm We were seated at bar where we waited 30 minutes with no updates from concierge. We felt abandoned. 2 stars for concierge team. However the barman and waiter (when we eventually got him) were good - 4 stars for them.
We went for a Valentines dinner. My wife is celiac and the options and quality of food for her was likely the best we have experienced. Great server ( from Italy). Pricey but I was prepared for that . Great dining experience all around!
An absolutely lovely evening out in Whistler. Service was prompt, efficient and courteous. The sommelier was knowledgeable and we enjoyed her recommendation. Our party ordered a variety of dishes (meat, seafood etc.) and vegetarian/vegan options were well catered-for. Looking forward to going back!
Araxi deserves all the positive reviews it gets. I am a foodie that can't stand over done over pretentious food that does not live up to the hype & price. I dined with my GF brother for 5 days in Whistler & this was the only restaurant that made it a pleasure to be GF. And us gluten addicts were well catered for. Balanced flavours and sensible portions. The pastry on the apple tart was heavenly. I have never actually had tender vension - it was sublime. Many thanks SJW

We chose Araxi because the reviews were outstanding. We encountered a restaurant that was much bigger than the photos online. The location was right in the middle of the famous Whistler Village. The menu seemed simple and nothing shouted "interesting" so the waiter provided some important guidance about the style in which each meal was cooked which helped to narrow down our choices. He assured us that "no matter what we ordered, we would not be disappointed." And he was right. My Sablefish was the best I have EVER had. It was done in a Japanese style in a perfect miso broth with the perfect seasonings and the most scrumptious bok choy. Yes scrumptious. My husband had the pork loin and he cast aside decorum and cleaned his plate. I was delighted to see an apple dessert, it was better than I imagined and just perfect. Not too sweet, and fresh. My huns had the black forrest cake. Very moist apparently. I don't know- he wouldnt share. Fabulous eatery!
Delicious! Had the beef tenderloin and it was outstanding! My husband had the Tuna and thought the same! Will definitely come back next time in Whistler and recommend to friends :)
We went to this restaurant based on all the good reviews and were not disappointed. The saddle fish was amazingly great as was the shrimp appetizer. The selection of wines and drinks were huge and the service, although at first a bit rushed, settled into a nice pace with our server allowing us time to enjoy each course. When we return to Whistler, we will definitely return.
We eat at Araxi every year when we come to Whistler. The food is always delicious and the service is impeccable. There is a good reason why it is rated as one of the best restaurants in Whistler.
Came here first night in whistler. On par with some of the better restaurants in New York. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Oysters very good all the seafood dishes were excellent. Top notch place to go for gourmet food after a day of skiing.
