Yummy food in a warm inviting atmosphere. A must visit in Whistler if you enjoy fondue or german inspired dishes. I love the veal schnitzel!

Excellent food and experience. Note - this restaurant is NOT in the Fairmont Hotel building - the valet service was gracious in organizing a shuttle to the restaurant.

I was excited by the prospect of a unique Whistler experience with the Chalet fondue experience, but I think overall it fell short. We opted for the Guten Appetit for all four of us. The French onion soup was divine - can't recommend enough. The cheese fondue tasted good and we had a variety of dipping options. The schnitzel and sausage also came out during this course. The chocolate fondue was a little lackluster and almost felt rationed. It was disappointing to see a member of the waitstaff carry a generic bag of marshmallows through the dining area and realize we got just four of those on our platter. Maybe I had too high of expectations, but compared to the marketing photos on the website, it was just not similar whatsoever. The shining star of the meal were the cocktails for sure. The service was just fine, if anything leaning towards more inexperienced. We were seated near the water station and food running path which was somewhat distracting. Our waitress was nice and courteous. It was just not the level of professionalism I've experienced at other Fairmont destinations. Unfortunately, to cap off our night, there must have been a snafu with communication about our jackets. When we handed the host our ticket number she ran up and down the stairs twice, conferring with her coworkers to the whereabouts of our jackets. We discovered them semi-discarded at the end of the entry bench which did not leave a great last impression for me. Also, I understand that mistakes happen, but it was a lackluster acknowledgement and apology from the staff for temporarily losing our coats. I'm happy to have dined here and tried The Chalet. Unless you are gung-ho about having fondue (and there are other spots in Whistler that offer fondue), I would say skip. In my mind, the cost of the food/service/experience does not match the value.

It was very nice, but we miss the pigs knuckle and liver dumpling soup. Maybe we could pre- order it?

This is our 3rd time here and we love it. The fondue experience was amazing and our server Frazier was outstanding. We have by chance had him serve us twice and he was so much fun!!
