Steak cooked to perfection excellent service but shame we couldn't get a drink in the bar area before our table reservation time.
Lovely ambiance, excellent service. Food was very good, some over priced: the three scallops were lovely but at $37... Disappointments were the Beef Wellington: bit overdone, somewhat dry and not having a much flavour for a tenderloin cut. The rib cut of the grilled special was poorly chosen: too thinly cut to be done medium-rare and too much gristle. Certainly credit to the establishment for comping our desserts when this was mentioned- not as a complaint but an observation. Notwithstanding, the overall experience was positive and Icertainly would come again.
Been going there for 30 years. Had great mixed grill, gorgonzola sirloin and lamb chops. Most consistent quality anywhere.
The food was good, not great enough to justify prices which was too bad. Service was very good.
Great service and seafood was awesome!!! This is a nice place to end the perfect winter getaway!!
Hy's was absolutely worth the wait! From the moment we arrived, the classic steakhouse atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful evening. Our waiter, Brian, was fabulous—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and every detail reflected the quality you expect from a top-tier steakhouse. Definitely worth the cost, and we can't wait to return!
We enjoyed the design of the classic steakhouse recommend the bone in steak and Gorgonzola filet. Yet a few tables of diners had meal disturbed by a family with 3 kids who were loud, whiny, and dancing around. As a mom I'm all for bringing kids but oblivious and bad parenting inexcusable. So. If you go, choose your table wisely. Shout out to manager and our server, Alex. For being empathetic and kind
Great food and service!! The Steaks were amazing and table side caesar is always treat ! Every time we are in Whistler we eat at least one night at Hy's.
Jason served us with earnestness, good humour, and good knowledge of the menu. We enjoyed the meal greatly.
A lovely time celebrating my friend's birthday at Hy's! We were served by John and he was so kind, helpful and patient with all of our inquiries and requests :) he made our dinner a special one!

I wanted the STEAK NEPTUNE 77.95 "Your choice of New York or Filet, topped with fresh asparagus and Dungeness crabmeat, finished with hollandaise sauce" I asked the server if I could have bearnaise instead of hollandaise sauce. She made us feel like this was really going to upset the chef and she didn't know if this was possible. Really? One thing to say no, which seems like terrible customer service, it's another to make us feel like we've seen corrected by our teacher. She was able to convince the chef to make this change. When the food was delivered the bearnaise sauce was on the side! What!? You're so offended that you can't put it on like the hollandaise?? There are many better restaurants in Whistler that would be happy to have a regular patron. Hys is now off our list. The feeling was that they are struggling. Cheap.
One of our favorite restaurant experiences in Whistler. Great food, drinks and selection. Pricey, but the table side service makes it extra entertaining and out of the ordinary. It was also not busy, so the staff were very engaging and didn't seem irritated or overworked.
Pricey food, but well-prepared. The service was attentive and prompt. An excellent place for a special dinner.
Ridiculously expensive, no kids menu, everything was an add on. Steak lobster and mashed potatoes didn't even come with a veggie. Mash potatoes tasted like they boiled the water for too long waterlogged steak had no seasoning on it whatsoever.
Went for Valentine's Day. Very loud and chaotic. Table next to us sent steak back to be cooked correctly which was a bad sign. Ours was rare, not medium rare but we kept it as I'm ok usually with either. We had the special which was a bone in 22oz sirloin. Chewiest steak I've ever had. Flavor was ok but not memorable. Lobster Mac was good. Veggies with steak were way underdone and some of the root veg were even still crunchy. This was the first time at Hy's. Might try it again next trip but won't be high on the to do list. Price for experience was not worth it with many other options available.
