I have to write this yesterday March 8th went for a nice walk and then to moby dicks for the there famous fish and chips, service was a hit n miss, food was great, my wife ordered a cesar with NO tabasco in a sleeve, waitress left i could tell she seemed a little complexed.
She then came back to clarify and voila she received her drink, well took a drink and could tell it was spicy and some people cannot take spices period, she did not want to say anything drank approx a third of it and put it aside, sorta mentioned something to the waitress, but nothing happened, we paid the bill the left and not soon after she started with gag reflex over and over and over to vomiting all over herself, now me on the other hand would have taken her back to the restaurant to show them but anyhow she asked me not to.
She is a senior also, another gentleman complained to the waitress about his order that what he ordered was not what he received,
Its a shame nowadays to go out and expect the service that one would receive at one time, then oh don't forget they also want minimum 15% tip for this, comon ???!! not very re-assuring!!

We asked for four pieces of fish, no fries and I was charged over fifty bucks and I thought that was too much. We drove to the golf course to eat and we opened the packages up and there were enough fries to feed my grandchildren two meals, fries I didn't order and seven pieces of fish. I felt maybe the price must have reflected the extra food that was forced on me. I will not go back, even though the food was good.

I was shocked at my $68 dollar bill for 2, 1 piece fish and chips, 1 popcorn shrimp and 1 oyster - 2 soft drinks. Very small portions and over pricing out weigh the charm of this once great restaurant.I have been coming here on and off since 91.

I just had take out from Moby Dick's last week. Bill was $68 for two meals for my Mom and I. We got two pieces of cod with chips each. They don't have halibut. They are using their winter side of the restaurant and I like the old vibe fish n chip restaurant. Friendly staff, quick service and if you order 1 piece of cod, they give you two! If you order 2 pieces of cod, they'll give you three. So are their portions generous, yes. However, I was so disappointed. The chips were okay but you didnt get many and the fish was a thin batter and soooooo greasy. I had 3 pieces of fish but I only ate one and the piece I ate I had to use a bounty paper towel on to try and absorb all the oil! Just not enjoyable. ☹

this fish n chip place is excellent, light batter that’s not too heavy, our cod tasted fresh and moist, the fries were good as well, we got a small order of deep fried shrimp and oysters which was a great addition to our meal, nice little place and very cosy across from the water, prices were reasonable, family ran it seems and we always love supporting these types of establishments, staff was very kind and helped us with our order to help us save a few bux, love this place and we will be back the next time we visit white rock

It’s become a family tradition to bring out of town visitors to Moby Dick for fish ‘n chips. Weather permitting, get everything to go and cross the tracks, grab a stony table to overlook the beach while you eat. Don’t mind the gulls but eat up all your fries because that’s what they’re waiting for!
Delicious fish with nice, crisp batter. Excellent tartar. Staff is always very attentive and kind. Love it here!

Had lunch there with a group of 8. The food was excellent and service great. They brought the bill and machine and I wanted to give a tip but they had already added a 18% tip. I had planned to give that amount anyway so it didn't bother me. But if the service was lousy and the food bad what do you do?

Visited Moby Dick Restaurant in White Rock and had a truly happy experience! 🐟🍟 The fish and chips were crispy, fresh, and full of flavor — absolutely delicious. Their happy deal offered generous portions at a great price. The staff was welcoming and polite, creating a warm dining atmosphere. Loved the seaside vibes and clean, cozy environment. Overall, Moby Dick Restaurant is a perfect spot for great taste and great value! 😋🌊
