My dad and I came here after there was an estimate wait time of a hour at a different restaurant. This place did not disappoint! We will be coming back many more times. I had a medium rare Petit Filet Mignon which was cooked exactly how I like it. My side was the mushroom quartet, which was very rich in flavour. The staff/owner were attentive and very nice. When you come here, you are also supporting a family owned business. Highly reccommend!

Restaurant does not live up to the hype. How bad is it to mess up a ribeye steak, well onyx did. I will stick to The Keg from now on. Go back to basic grilling guys.

You can get a better steak at IHOP. I’m a pretty easy customer and don’t expect much but this place was a joke. The place was empty but nobody came to the front to seat us. Asked the bartender where our group was supposed to sit and got a lot of attitude. Food took forever even though the place was empty. Portions were small and not good. It tasted like everything was frozen and microwaved. Paid for the bone in tenderloin (which didn’t have a bone) was cooked poorly. Way overcooked and tough. Steak knife was too dull to cut through the rubbery steak. They set their prices like they are high end but their service and food quality was very low. You could honestly get better food from a 7-11. Service was exceptionally rude. They did a horrible job on all accounts. Don’t waste your time or money. If you want a comparable meal just spend $5 on a frozen hungryman dinner from the supermarket.

Worst meal in ages. Worst steak I’ve eaten in a restaurant. 4 chewy bites and it was gone and it was supposed to be the “upgraded” fillet. And we paid $140 a plate. Barely thawed crab cake that was ice cold, told it was supposed to be until a few members of our party got theirs hot. Waitress was supposed to have help and she was abandoned for half the meal and was run off her poor feet trying to help us. Owner finally showed up to help and was luke warm personable. Overall, absolutely terrible, will not ever go back and will warn others off. This is a bottom end restaurant pretending to be something they aren’t even close to.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience the other night here. We sat at the table by the front door (the posh seats🤣).

We witnessed the door be opening after every patron came and went. The food was top notch and the owner nick made us feel at home.

Overall it’s an experience that’s hard to find our little piece of heaven call White Rock.

Thanks again Nick! We’ll be back.

Let me say I travel quite a bit, eat at the best steak joints around the globe. My personal favorite used to be the met in seattle. Not anymore. Onyx in White Rock is the best steak I've had ...ever! best meal in years! Salad to perfection, prawns to perfection, steaks with their special searing process & mystery rub that isnt a rub, wine list is amazing, Aps are amazing, Service is amazing. Not a bad thing on the menu, In fact it's just the opposite. Everything is top notch. Be prepared to be blown away. I was... Man!! - not open on mon or tuesday make a rez. This place is crazy good !!

Our experience at Onyx Steakhouse was fantastic. It was the perfect place to spend a couple hours enjoying the food and catching up with a friend. Our server, Nicolas (who also happens to be the owner), went above and beyond all night. He was on top of everything. You can tell he genuinely cares about creating a great experience for every guest.

The food was amazing. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. Tender and delicious. The sides were both great. Presentation of all the food was top notch. Dessert was also superb! Could go for another one already.

The restaurant itself has such a cozy atmosphere. Everything about it was just spot-on. I’d absolutely recommend Onyx to anyone looking for an exceptional dinner experience.

🌟 A Hidden Gem in the Heart of White Rock — Onyx Steakhouse & Lounge 🌟

If you’re looking for an exceptional spot in White Rock, BC for an out-of-the-ordinary dining experience, make sure Onyx Steakhouse & Lounge is at the top of your list 🥰.

After three long days of work on a trip to BC, I just wanted a great steak and a quiet evening. What I found was so much more.

I’ve spent over 30 years traveling as a salesman, eating in restaurants across Canada and beyond. With hospitality in my blood—my father was a European-born sommelier and maître d’hôtel—I have a deep appreciation for true excellence. Onyx delivered it in spades.

This cozy spot is easy to miss if you’re just passing through, but inside you’ll find a warm, relaxing ambiance, perfectly balanced music, and an atmosphere that invites you to settle in and let your taste buds travel. The cocktails are crafted with care, the one-page menu is just the right size, and the wine list ranges from local vintages to world-renowned classics. You can even enjoy many selections by the glass.

As for the food, from a tender Filet Mignon to melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu, each cut is cooked to perfection. Their house-made rub is exceptional, enhancing the natural flavor without overpowering it.

Part Two: After my first visit, I was so impressed I returned the next evening to explore more. I tried the lamb shank, slow-braised with Moroccan spices, and paired it with a beautiful Ventoux wine. The experience was unforgettable.

Part Three: Two weeks later, I couldn’t resist returning. This time, I tried the yellowfin tuna, a refreshing departure that highlighted Onyx’s versatility. Each visit revealed another layer of their charm.

Part Four: On my final evening before heading home to Alberta, I savored the braised short rib and let Nicolas chose the wine for me. The genuine hospitality from Nicolas, the owner and his team, and the consistent excellence and special attention to every detail, made me feel truly at home.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — A must-visit destination for anyone who loves exceptional food, fine wine and genuine hospitality.

The Filet Mignon was very tasty with the peppercorn sauce and sides of asparagus, mushrooms and steak fries. Loved the Ceasar Salad as well. A great night out with friendly and fast service.

Came here for our anniversary and the service was so lovely. We also came on a quieter day which felt like we had the place to ourselves 🫶🏼 Foodwise, it’s a miSTEAK NOT to order the steak, bombolini and brussel sprouts— it’s worth every bite (;

Shout out to their complimentary popcorn with the steak seasoning on it. What a combo.
