Coming from the Okanagan, I was on the hunt for a great steak while in the White Rock area. A quick Google search led me to Onyx Steakhouse, and I’m so glad it did. I made a reservation and from start to finish, the experience was exceptional.
I started with the mussels, which were unlike anything I’ve had before—served in a coconut milk, turmeric, pineapple, and red Thai curry sauce. Absolutely unreal. For the main, I had the bone-in ribeye with sides of steak fries, asparagus, and Brussels sprouts, paired with a great bottle of red wine.
What made it even more memorable was that the owner, Nicholas, personally served us. The food and the service were both outstanding.
Highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

This is one of the best hidden gems in white rock - locals know it well but if you’re not from the direct area it is an absolute must go. The food is beyond spectacular, but truly my favorite part of this restaurant is the “old school service” you receive. It is so personalized and feels a level above fine dining care. Every member of the front of house staff makes sure you feel taken care of and they take initiative in ensuring a perfect experience from start to finish - so much so that someone physically ran to the store to make sure I had fresh milk for my cappuccino last time. Nothing on the menu will disappoint, I’ve had the majority of items and the portions are great, especially for sharing. My favourites being steak, risotto and Brussels sprouts but the short rib is always a good choice too. You will never regret coming here for top notch food and service.

Had a truly wonderful experience at ONYX. The service was impeccable, we ordered a cappuccino in the evening and they were out of milk and actually ran out at that moment to grab some milk to make the cappuccino.
Best level of customer service I have experienced in a long time, and the food was to die for.

Had an amazing time at ONYX Steakhouse. Honestly, the service was top tier—probably some of the best I’ve ever had. it’s run by a husband and wife team who really care about making sure you’re happy. Super friendly and attentive the whole time.
I got the 20 oz ribeye with Café de Paris butter, the lobster mac and cheese, and finished off with the poached pear dessert. The steak was incredible—juicy, flavourful, cooked just right. The poached pear dessert was also a hit, sweet and salty in all the right ways. Not gonna lie, the lobster mac wasn’t my favourite—felt like the lobster kind of took over the dish—but it was decently good and definitely edible.
Overall, awesome vibe, great food, and service that really stood out. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing a few people with me next time. Please if your in white rock, pick this over the keg as they use much higher quality ingredients

The food was exceptional, with the prime rib being a standout dish-perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The old-fashioned cocktail I ordered was expertly crafted and incredibly smooth. Beyond the wonderful cuisine, the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Took my family here for dinner. 8 of us in total. From the time I sat down until the time I had my drink in my hand was 30 min. Maybe two other tables in the restaurant at the time. We went on a Sunday where they do a prime rib..... they want you to pre order the prime rib if you are interested. We pre ordered 3 prime rib done anywhere from medium rare to medium, all the prime rib came out well done. Waiter was nice, restaurant was clean. When you are charging the prices you are charging, gotta be better.
We hosted our annual company Christmas Party this year at ONYX Steakhouse. To say we were impressed is an understatement. Nicholas and team blew us away with their attention to detail, guiding us along the way from planning to executing our evening. Our staff raved about the evening, from the food and drinks, to the atmosphere in the private dining room. During the evening, Nick and his team went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed to ensure our work family had an amazing evening. Would highly recommend ONYX Steakhouse to anyone. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere was wonderful! We could hear ourselves talking! Music was wonderful but not extra loud! Service from Cenan was exceptional! Very attentive but not in your face! The waygu steak was PERFECT! Filet mignon was amazing! Staff all around was wonderful! We are definitely coming back! Loved every minute of it from our starters and cocktails to our dessert and port wine!

Came for a birthday event and the waiter showed a lot of attitude to our guests and didn’t warn us about the small appetizer portion sizes and no support on how to accommodate our 10 ppl guest list. Asked for a few items on the menu and majority of the main courses are sold out by 7pm on a Saturday with prior reservation. Not going back.
