I was genuinely looking forward to Tacofino opening in White Rock, as it would save me the trek to Yaletown whenever I had a craving. As someone with a dairy allergy, I had always trusted Tacofino’s Yaletown location for their careful handling of allergies, but White Rock unfortunately fell short of that standard. They could benefit from a serious refresher in attentiveness and allergy protocols.
I arrived around 7:30 PM, with only one other customer—a dad and his daughter—already seated. When I ordered, I asked which of the chicken tacos could be made dairy- and egg-free due to my allergies. The waitress handed me a black folder to review, but it mainly listed gluten information and lacked clear details on dairy or egg allergens. After she saw my confusion, she went to check with the kitchen and confirmed that I shouldn’t be served the ranch dip with my tots, as it contained dairy.
At first, I chalked it up to a minor mix-up, but the night quickly proved otherwise. The dad and daughter nearby were also facing issues; he was surprised to receive three orders of tots instead of two and joked that his daughter would just have leftovers for lunch. His patience was admirable—mine was running thin.
When my order arrived quickly after, I was served the exact ranch dip that I had explicitly requested not to have, rather than the roja and verde dips I’d ordered. It wasn’t a matter of the food being contaminated, but still, in a practically empty restaurant with only two active orders, how could these errors keep happening? With a dairy allergy, I expect the staff to pay close attention, and if they’re uncertain, it’s better to ask again than to risk my health.
Tacofino might want to consider simplifying their allergen legends to help staff understand them more easily—especially in a busy environment where this oversight could have led to actual allergen contamination. I still enjoy Tacofino’s food, but White Rock’s team needs to step up to protect the brand’s reputation. I’ll make the drive to another location next time; White Rock clearly isn’t too concerned with getting it right.

Fun place, nice staff. I've been here a few times since it opened, every time the experience was just ok. Tonight was the worst. Everything about the chicken burrito is so greasy, I ended up throwing it away. There's so many other decent Mexican choices in the area, Sal y limon, Chipotle, Barburrito. I would even settle for Tacotime over highly overrated Tacofino.

So sad, ordered the chorizo burrito and tater tots to go to take to 3 Dogs. The tots came hot and crunchy but the burrito was COLD. Not even warm at all. Only took a couple of bites and packed it home. The burrito is very good warmed. Not sure if I should go back.
UPDATE- went back again this Friday. Had the wings, nachos and Gringa. Food was well prepared and awesome. Will come back for sure.

This place serves amazing Tacos and Nachos. I personally get 2 fish tacos and the Macho platter every time I’m in there. Almost met with a great attitude and great meals. A big shout out to this location! Keep up the great work. ❤️

I want to start this by saying, I’ve been to almost all other Tacofino locations over the years multiple times and they are amaaazing. I happily will wait an hour in Tofino for tacos. This is solely a reflection of the whiterock location.
My favourite has always been the fish taco. So I was very much looking forward to trying them at this new location. The fish was coated with thick, raw batter that oozed with each bite. It was so bad I ended up just eating the cabbage for lunch. My husband had a good chicken burrito and my son had a yam taco which was soggy and not up to par with the usual tacofino standards.
The whole time they played legit screamo music, some with F-bombs while I was the only customer sitting front and centre inside with my husband and 3 year old. There were staff coming in and out of the back room, and there was a server/host who took our order at the till, and what appeared to be a manager sitting at a computer right next to us. Lots of eyes and brains that could have registered that maybe the atmosphere was inappropriate for a family with kids.
Management was made aware through an email and were responsive. I hope they do make some changes because it would be lovely to have a killer Tacofino location out this way.
Been to all locations multiple times , they are known for the monster $20 burritos.
First time this location although delicious it was a little on small side. Come on guys got a reputation to uphold.

First time I was welcoming for a nice cashier and waitress who actually asked me about how like the food, very nice, friendly kid!
The chicken was awesome fresh and quite tasty!
Now they serve chicken breaded tacos ?
They don’t like if you don’t tip.
The main girl unfriendly.

Omg!!!! So I’ve had a great experience but tonight was a wow in the negative category. I tried the lemongrass chicken burrito for the first time and I bit into this rock hard thing. I didn’t know what it was at first but then realized it was supposed to be the crispy garlic rice. It was more like biting a hockey puck. I really hope this Tacofino in White Rock isn’t going downhill already. Anyways, crap experience and hope it was just an off night by the cook and you guys aren’t going downhill. More training for the cooks?? The night was 09/24/24.

I visited Tacofino recently and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience due to the service provided by Yusha. She was quite disrespectful and unprofessional, making it difficult for us to place our order. She rolled her eyes when we added items and sighed throughout the process. When I asked for hot sauce and requested her to repeat the options, she stepped closer and raised her voice in a confrontational manner.
I inquired about speaking to a manager, but was informed that one wasn’t available. To my surprise, Yusha later approached our table and said, "Good luck with whatever you are doing," which was completely unnecessary and unkind.
This negative experience overshadowed my visit, and while I’ve always enjoyed Tacofino, I won’t be returning to this location again.

Foods pretty good here, unfortunately the manager lady (person doing the scheduling when we we're there) is pretty miserable which unfortunately trickles down to the staff. She was pretty unaccommodating with a situation we were having when one of her staff kindly asked her something she was quite rude to us and that particular staff member. Too bad, Tacofino in Vancouver is good all around
