We went to this Mexican restaurant on Valentine’s Day without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised that they were still able to fit us in, which immediately set a great tone for the evening.
The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the molcajete barbacoa, and it did not disappoint — a generous portion of flavorful barbacoa served with tortillas, more than enough to satisfy. My wife had the beef tacos, and they were just as delicious, cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, especially for such a busy night, and the view of the ocean made the experience even more special. Between the incredible food, great service, and beautiful setting, it was a perfect Valentine’s Day dinner.
Five stars — we’ll definitely be back!

Zapoteca is so good. I ordered the mole enchiladas and they were next level, the negro mole is so delicious & is absolutely on par with what I’ve had in Guadalajara. I’ve gone back a few times now and always end up ordering the same thing because it’s just that good!

Visited on Saturday, December 20 around 8:30 PM with my family for a pre-Christmas dinner. The restaurant was not very busy at the time, yet we waited approximately 20 minutes after being seated before anyone attended to us.
Once our order was taken, the food itself was good. However, the service was disappointing. The servers came across as rude and unwelcoming, with a noticeably poor tone throughout our visit. At one point, we initially intended to leave a tip, but due to the quality of service, we decided otherwise. During billing, the server’s reaction made the situation uncomfortable and further reflected the lack of professionalism.
This experience was especially surprising, as we have visited this restaurant three times before without any issues. Unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable pre-Christmas dinner with family. While the food was good, we do not plan on returning.

One of the best restaurants down in White Rock! Zapoteca is in an amazing location, particularly in an area where there isn't a whole lot of dining diversity. The food here is superb, and the spicy margaritas are to die for. I have gone here with adults, as well as with the whole family, and would recommend it for either situation. You won't be disappointed!

Located discreetly on the White Rock Strip, this establishment is truly a hidden gem.
The food served here is exceptionally good—authentic and flavorful in every dish. One of my personal favorites are the Carmela and queso fundido. The Carmela, in particular, is an excellent choice for two people to share, offering a rich and satisfying taste.
I highly recommend giving this place a try the next time you are in the area. It offers a delightful culinary experience that is both enjoyable and memorable.
