Southeast States Welcome Big Dave's Cheesesteaks

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks is on a roll, expanding its Philly-inspired sandwiches across the Southeast. The Georgia-based chain announced plans to open 16 new locations in three states, building on its current roster of four Georgia stores, an Atlanta food truck, and a Charlotte franchise.

Founded by West Philadelphia native Derrick Hayes in 2014, Big Dave's started in a tiny gas station outside Atlanta. It quickly gained fame for its classic cheesesteak, featuring chopped ribeye, peppers, and a secret three-cheese blend.

"Our new flagship restaurant, located at 300 Marietta St. NW, is more than just a place to eat; it's a symbol of resilience and growth," Hayes said about the upcoming Atlanta location.

The expansion includes 10 new spots in Florida, starting in Oviedo. Derek Lewis, the Central Florida franchisee, is pumped: "Growth potential for Big Dave's on a local, regional, and national level is sky high."

In South Carolina, a team led by Marc and Kiera Brown and Frank and Courtney Williams will open five restaurants in Columbia. Frank Williams shared, "Our family is very excited to be a part of the Big Dave's Cheesesteak franchise and to create opportunities for others."

Apart from traditional beef menu, Big Dave's offers chicken and veggie options, plus a unique salmon cheesesteak. Sides like cheesesteak egg rolls and Southern-style banana pudding round out the offerings.

Hayes plans to open 100 locations by 2025. Considering the army of nearly 300,000 Instagram followers waiting for Big Dave's to pop up in their neighborhoods, this might become a reality.
