Burger King to Renovate 400 Locations in 2025
Burger King plans to remodel about 400 of its U.S. locations in 2025 as part of its ambitious "Reclaim the Flame" strategy to modernize restaurants and boost sales. The makeovers are already paying off. Sales at remodeled locations have increased in the mid-teens, according to Joshua Kobza, CEO of parent company Restaurant Brands International, who shared the results during a May 8 earnings call.

Odd Burger Opens Three New Canada Locations
Odd Burger, a popular Canadian vegan chain, is expanding across the country with three brand new restaurant openings. Two of these locations have already welcomed their first customers. On May 11th, Odd Burger opened its doors in Edmonton, Alberta at 336A Mayfield Common Northwest. Then on May 18th, the chain debuted in British Columbia with a restaurant at 790 Fisgard Street in downtown Victoria. This location has indoor seating for 16, an outdoor patio, and street parking.
Self-Service Kiosks Boosting Fast Food Sales
Major fast-food chains across America are racing to install more digital kiosk ordering stations - and they have a good reason. The self-service kiosks have shown their efficiency in making customers spend more money per order. "People who ordered at kiosks rather than at cashiers spent on average nearly 10% more," Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti told investors in February. Yum! Brands, parent of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, is also prioritizing kiosk expansions. Taco Bell has them in all U.S. stores, while KFC should have kiosks in the "vast majority" of non-China restaurants by end of 2026.
