Job Nob is the best place to eat on Alameda island. Their drinks are well mixed, and affordable- especially if you stop in at happy hour. They're food is fresh, flavorful and well executed. My favorites on the menu are the lemon curd pancakes, their eggs Benedict, they have really good biscuits and gravy, and their heavenly truffle fries! They also have daily food specials that are always delicious and unique. The staff is always friendly, the spot has a good vibe. One thing that they do not have is WiFi, and it's a pretty dead cell spot inside the restaurant so make sure if you're meeting friends there that everyone knows that.
for years i've only been to hobnob during happy hour and gotten drinks and truffle fries (which are great by the way), but this year we decided to try it for alameda restaurant week and now i feel like i've missed out on the great food they have to offer all this time. the butternut squash soup was smooth and tasty, the four cheese ravioli with pesto saucy and well-seasoned and the prawns were juicy, and the buttermilk panna cotta was delicious and packaged-well! will definitely be coming back post-restaurant week!
Great food, fresh ingredients, care and thought into menu planning, great value, great people!
Best delivery I've had in awhile. Very fast delivery. My truffle fries were still hot and the Ahi Tuna Tacos were delicious. They packed everything on the side so it wouldn't get soggy! The cake was also to die for! Hobnob has now been added to one of my favorite restaurants in Alameda!! :)
one of the tastiest restaurants on the island and Amy and Scott and their staff are always so nice!
Walking outdoors this Sunday evening and came upon HonNob eats and drinks. Sat outside and enjoyed the best Old Fashioned made with Redemption. Trevor was our informed polite and charming server. Great happen upon experience will be back soon. Bravo
Pretty good service, food came out super quick. Fish and chips were great, they give you a TON of fries. Chicken sandwich was great, but super messy, bun and chicken fell apart. Pear salad was really good. Above all just great service so pretty happy about that.
WHEN: Friday @5pmI've been here late nights for drinks but this is the first time I'm doing take-out for dinner! I called in around 5pm in case there was a long wait since its dinner time on a Friday. To my surprise my order would be ready in 10 minutes! Here's what I ordered:PATTY MELT - $15This was their burger of the week. It was pretty darn good, I was impressed! It's been awhile since I had a patty melt, and I really enjoyed this hefty burger! For just $2 more, I can get a side of fries, and it was a generous amount! The fries were yummy and hot!Overall, everything was delightful and reasonably priced! Definitely coming back.
Yesterday's venture took me to the hob knob . I was immediately drawn in by the fried chicken sandwich on their window. Bartender was super nice, great customer service. There was outdoor seating with a nice turf set up for a hot afternoon like yesterday. it was nice to be able to sit comfortably and enjoy a meal. they have an small section OFF the main sidewalk which was nice. When the bartender brought the food He was very pleasant. He brought it out in a standard covid to go set up The presentation of the sandwich was Amazing ! It was not spicy, something I was looking forward too. It Looked wonderful, was not too messy but juicy enough to tell it had a lot of flavor ! The chicken was dark meat, cooked well. The breading was not too crunchy or to flaky it was just right. The fries were nice and crispy with garlic salt. Napkins included. Overall bill $25 including tip for 1 sandwich 1 fries 1 beer Overall a 5 star experienceThe only reason I am personally rating this a 4 out of 5 is because the chicken sandwich was glazed with a sweet tangy sauce. Something I was not use to. In way it was like eating orange chicken sandwich with a bun and coleslaw from an Asian restaurant. The bartender said they change the flavor each week, when he started to list the flavor I was saddened because I would have chosen the buffalo or Nashville instead of the Korean barbecue glaze. My suggestion if you're looking for a classic southern style sandwich just ask what flavor it is this is week. I will do the same. It is a great place !
The food never disappoints! Spaghetti and meatballs are a favorite as well as the fried chicken sandwich. We have been eating here for years and we love it. Great comfort food options too like the awesome mac and cheese!
Heard a good review before we went me and my girl got chicken sandwich's and her daughter got the hamburger the burger was so raw it all the way pink on the inside and her bread was Soggy this was a really bad experience for all of us being our first time here
Great food, great vibes.
Really excited to see that one of my neighborhood favorites was up and running again this week for take-out. The menu is limited for now, but super tasty...a few of their signature dishes, and some inspired new offerings! Ordered brunch and had delicious breakfast sandwiches along with an order of their famous Mac & Cheese. Ordering by phone and pickup were really easy. As usual, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
We'd never ordered food here, but wanted to have a vegan option for our daughter. A table was available outside for fresh air dining (take-out is getting old, right?). The person behind the bar offered to bring out the full order once ready, and gave us our drinks. The vegan fish & chips were a-mazing (quote from the vegan). We over-ordered because everything looks so good (and was!). Calamari, truffle garlic fries, Mexican corn, etc. Will definitely be back for outdoor dining or take-out.
Had to go pick it up but that was not a stopping point. (Btw Park St is nuts now) Food was great and was ready when I got there to pick it up.
