Stumbled onto this Thai market adjacent to the Thai cafe. Totally in heaven. Got durian sticky rice, fried fish crackers, pickled star gooseberries. Wafer cookies, instant noodles, squid rice crackers, curry paste, mango sticky rice, egg custard rice and a whole bunch more stuff. The choice is astonishing. Texted all my finds to my colleague in Bangkok - I have been to Thailand a number of times and never have I seen this rich selection / even in Thailand. He said that the wafer cookies are hard to find. Egg yolk pastries are delicious too. I shop often at a Thai supermarket but this place has more snacks than groceries. Have not been excited about many markets like this in a long time. If you can't travel to Southeast Asia, bring SEA to home. Only concern is Alameda is rather backwater and conservative - I am not sure its residents will appreciate something so unique and so out of ordinary. Please spread the word and send all SEA and Thai people living in the Bay Area to this shop. Pleas keep this market open by coming here often, and shop as much as I did. 6 out of 5.

This place is delicious. The ingredients are always fresh and the flavor profile is amazing. So glad they are working through these difficult times.

I have loved Homeroom since they were initial started as a part of the race car cafe. The food is so comforting, consistent and you can feel the love in every dish they make. Since they reopened, their menu is on point. I love their red curry (and when they have it there panang curry). Their soups are my go to on a cold day and their somtum fried chicken sticky rice combo when I want some real comfort food. Support this small Alameda local business. They have awesome food as well as being wonderful people.

It's rare that everyone in the family is really excited about a meal out, but this Thai place with the unique name is fantastic. I rate Thai restaurants on one dish, the yellow curry. If you put effort into your yellow curry, the rest of your dishes are likely to shine; as was our experience with this place. We also loved the chicken wings, fried rice w/ grilled chicken, and lemongrass coconut chicken soup. The only thing I'm unsure about is their name... :)

Wonderfully friendly and considerate staff! I really like their version of fried rice, and I'm usually not a big fan of it. Planning on returning to try their other dishes.

Very solid Thai food. We've only started eating there since Covid-19, so I don't know what the dine-in experience is like, but the takeout is very tasty. I really like their noodle dishes. I was a little confused by the spice options -- last time I was there I asked what is the difference between 'normal' and 'medium', and was told that normal has no spice. So I think it's normal - mild - medium - spicy. Medium is pleasantly spicy -- not too hot, but definitely not for anyone who gets easily uncomfortable with a little heat.

So yom yom it's crazy . Seriously you should try the tom yom soup. Other stuff is good too, but seriously try the soup. Be careful though, their spicy level is definitely high. Personally the medium is like spicy. Food to have that option, but just warning

Love their food! Eggplant with pork super tasty. Phad Thai and curry some of the best I've eaten on the island! Definitely like the dishes in Thailand. Authentic and scrumptious! Family owned and super nice. It's my go to place when I'm wanting Thai. We met Toon and learned the history of their resturuant!

I hadn't had Thai food in years, so I was nervous at first and ordered several things from "must try's" to my "safer" option of chicken wings. To my pleasant surprise, IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS. I had no idea I would enjoy Thai food so much. My personal favorite (I love spicy food) was the Tom Yum Noodle Soup! The chicken wings weren't your average either and they made them spicy for me! Just a great experience all around. Great food, great flavors and great service - the special TLC from helping me order to making some of my dishes spicy to my request will have me return again! Thank you!

Best Thai I've had in the east bay and potentially in the whole Bay Area. We've lived in SF, Oakland and now Alameda, and have tried nearly every Thai spot everywhere we've lived. I'm a curry obsessive, particularly green curry, and Homeroom Thai is one of the best I've had. We also typically skip pad thai since it's fairly standard and never blows me away, but on whim got it here and it was delicious. Also highly recommend the pad see ew.

A family owned gem in Alameda. Every dish I've sampled here was rich and robust with flavor. The family that owns this establishment are kind and genuine, and if you're one that doesn't shy away from spice, as in spice that releases maximum flavor instead of just setting your face on fire then this is your spot. If you're looking for a flavorful Thai restaurant in the Bay Area you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to visit this spot.

This place is great, everything we have gotten here has been solid, very flavorful and fresh, pad Thai not too sweet and they are always very nice when we order. Best Thai on the Island in my opinion!

We came here for lunch and the food is AMAZING! I highly recommend their Tom Yum Soup, chicken Satay, and Pad See Ew. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I'm definitely going back soon to try more dishes!

Very good authentic Thai food. Had the Pad si io. It was smoky, spicy, slightly sweet but not overly so or too greasy. Tasted great. Also had a had the papaya salad and it was great. Very authentic. But holy s*** it was spicy. Get normal if you are even remotely a baby. There were at least three bird eye chillies in it.
