I'm definitely a bagel person, and I've had deli-style bagels in Brooklyn, Montreal, Los Angeles, and Studio City. Every major city claims to have the best deli bagels and sandwiches, but House of Bagels is by far my favorite stop for simple, yet authentic lox and egg salad bagels. The owners are really nice, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are huge. If you're in Alameda and have the craving, this is the place!

Ordered a poppy seed bagel and got this. Not sure if I'll come back again.

It’s a beautiful place but the food was just ok. The man got my order wrong twice. I was also disappointed that there were no chocolate bagels.

I really like house of bagels, I used to go to the one in concord and would pay $10 for my order and my sandwiches never disappointed, but I started going to the park street location and I hate to say it but they don’t quite compare. This location is very stingy with their meat. For $13 I would expect a better made sandwich.

Got an everything bagel with veggie shmear. The shmear actually had a ton of veggies in it unlike every other bagel place in alameda. The bagel was perfectly crisp on the outside and chewy in the inside.

The omelette was made in the microwave making the omelette dry and it had no flavor. The over taste was not that great.

The best bagels in the area, without having to schlep to Berkeley. Crispy outside, chewy inside, and nice flavorings.

. Be careful, I visited this place for several months and I didn't want to put a bad comment first because I think it is very bad for you to eat an egg sewn in a plastic but I passed it but what I didn't like is that the woman who works is always there she charges me more money than the man and he didn't even place my order with what he had, but he took away ingredients from the bagel, you judge

I stopped in the other day to get 2 bagels and a small tub of cream cheese. The price was $10, which I thought was high for baked goods. When I got home and tried to slice the bagels open, they were rock hard. Not sure if I was given old bagels. I toasted and tried the bagels. They were ok, but the dough was very dense and I did not care for them. The service was not friendly, just pop the bagels in and pushed my direction, no smile or thank you. I don't think I will go back to this store. Not welcoming.

Parking: Parking in this location is hard to come by, it is a busy street.

Jalapeño bagel with pastrami. Dined in and table was dirty with cream cheese streaks. But overall it was okay.

Asked for bagel with cream cheese & lox. They gave me literally like a teaspoon of cream cheese for the entire bagel. It didnt even fully cover the bottom half of the bagel, zero cream cheese on the top half. What a joke!

I love this place. I've been going here for many years. The bagels have just the right chew. The cream cheese is satisfying and the staff is professional and friendly. My go to bagel is the pumpernickel.

Worst lox bagel I’ve had. Everything tasted I dunno “low quality” and they didn’t put on capers.

Bagels suck, everything is microwaved and the place stinks.
