First time trying Hummus Republic. The food was very fresh and tasty. Friendly staff and the multiple lemonade flavors were refreshing.

Absolutely loved the falafel bowl, with a huge portion size. Would highly recommend their grandma’s sauce to top it up, very flavourful, lightly spiced, perfect to balance the hummus and falafel.
The falafel burger with sweet potato fries was equally underwhelming. The burger was tasteless and dry with falafel as the patty and just ketchup. Would have been so much nicer with hummus or any other sauces on top. The fries were hard and chewy, definitely seemed refried and not fresh.
The strawberry lychee cooler was deliciously soothing, not too sweet, just perfect.
The baklava was too soggy and sweet. Not terrible but also not great.
Overall, the bowls are a safe bet which will not disappoint

As part of my Alameda Restaurant Week photography, I stopped by Hummus Republic to sample their menu. The food quality really stands out for the price point. It's fast, clean, and healthy for someone busy - both my nutritionist wife AND my 9yo kid love this place. It's a great spot downtown offering Mediterranean food at inexpensive prices. Perfect for to-go orders when you're on the move.

This place is like the Chipotle of Vegan food; It's great! I really like it!
However, their prices are bit high for all vegan ingredients when I can get a vegan meal from Chipotle, a few blocks up the street at the shopping center, for $2-3 less.
I hope this place can scale and do well. Do try it out!

They have plenty of vegan options, but the food is just meh. The falafel is a solid 1/10, the quality you'd get by half assing it at home. It's not awful food, it's just the kind of thing you get because you're near it and think why not.
