They are not even a open busy.. wasted my time driving there. But the phone number has a voice message..??♀️??♀️
The people working here are great. The beans and Mac n cheese are excellent. The main dishes we tried need some work though. Brisket was about 1/2 fat, and not very tender. Sandwich we tried was just ok.
Surprisingly good bbq tucked away in a "sandwich" shop. Fried chicken is ok. They give 1 biscuit when you buy an 8 piece. The biscuit was good. All the BBQ meats were good. Service was good! I'll be back.
Ordered the 2 meat combo of beef brisket and spicy hot links with 2 sides (Mac and Cheese/Collard Greens). The brisket was like leather, a serrated knife couldn't cut through the meat. When asked if I wanted the hot or mild links, I wanted the "hot" which was marked on the box but got something with absolutely no flavor, even the BBQ sauce did not help.My 2nd order was the 2 piece dark chicken with a biscuit. The biscuit was missing from the order.
Super moist, nice crispy skin, and just enough spice for a little flavor kick! Great chicken, reasonable prices and nice people.Next time I'll have to try the bbq too!
Great customer service very clean , food taste fresh and good! . Love the location !
If you haven't tried the BBQ yet, I really recommend it.Been here a few times in the oast but most recently for the BBQ and it was super delicious. Meat is slow cooked in a smoker smothered in BBQ sauce that the owner himself makes from scratch. Told me he has been making that stuff for his 8 children their whole life. I appreciate the generous portion of the plate and the overall quality of the food. I will come back again and again.
Wow, such great service. Definitely worth a trip to Alameda. Small momAnd pop shop that exceeds quality, service, and exceptionalism overall! The Gonzo sandwich is a must try, and their fried chicken, woo, what a delicate balance of crisp and spices. Yum!
Happy to have found good BBQ in Alameda! The service was great, portions were big and the food was very well cooked & seasoned. Will be returning soon!
The food I got was amazing, but they forgot the rice with the chicken and rice plate for my take out nooooo! I paid for an add on of Mac salad which was added, but basically all I got was broccoli and chicken since I can’t eat a lot of the mayonnaise-laiden Mac salad I was really counting on that rice

On behalf of my shrimp po'boy and my friend's hot tuna sandwhich. My shrimp po'boy was seriously greasy. Like a school cafeteria pizza. On that alone... I wouldn't go back. You would need a towel, not just napkins. The bread was fine, amount of shrimp was fine. No red cabbage.. taste was I'd say a 5.0 on a 10 scale but the grease made me sick afterwards. As grease does to sensitive stomach folks. I just didn't know it would be like that.My friend got a hot tuna sandwich and there was almost no tuna in it?? Not sure what happened where they missed that step. The bread was stale and hard to eat. They also forgot her order... She ordered and waited ten minutes, and then reminded them to which she received an "oops".I would take my chances at the liquor store frozen burgers section instead.
Their chicken tastes best when freshly made. Try to go when they're busy so you won't get ones sitting under the heat lamps. The chicken pieces are smaller than before, but I suppose it's that, or raise the price.
Great sandwiches and incredibly friendly staff. They are incredibly generous with the avocado on the Gonzo. Also a plus to support a black owned local business.
Brenda was fantastic! The food here is great on its own but it is something special when the staff is just as great. You can’t go wrong with the catfish dinner or the fried chicken deals!Every time I visit from Nevada I make sure to stop by here!
I got got a sandwich from this place. When I got there I saw the person behind the counter touching her mouth with her finger and prepared my sandwich without gloves. Are u serious! We have eyes. We are are not blind. I paid my sandwich and throw it away. First time in this place and never go back.
