Would love to see this place thrive as it has good vibes. I had a great experience but can't help but feel it could easily be better. Service when I visited was very slow and it was hard to find a spot to sit. Loved the live music, but please turn off the radio so there are not 2 songs playing simultaneously . Some of the dishes could use an extra element to take them to the next level. For example the loco moco is overwhelmingly heavy and could use pickled onions or something to brighten it up. The gravy also tasted odd, maybe using too many burnt bits. The Hawaiian French toast was awesome but a bit dry, and I had to ask for butter and syrup. Would be great with vanilla ice cream or some kind of sauce to tie together the loose buns sitting sparsely on the plate. Maybe I just chose the wrong items? Will be back eventually to try the malasadas.

Today we tried lunch at the Shaka Shack for the first time, and we will definitely be back. They were busy when we arrived, but we had time to hang out and the food was worth the wait. The crew was nice and personable. We wound up chatting with other customers. They surprised both our tables with complementary Malasadas which were delicious. Everything was delicious.

Great food and location. The malasadas were incredible, especially with the multiple fillings that you can get with it. We tried most of the flavors and enjoyed them all.

Born and raised in Hawaii. Loco moco was a little over priced. Nothing special about it. The rice was a little mushy. Mac salad was actually a spaghetti salad. Malasadas are nothing I’m used to, it’s actually like an andagi texture wise. It’s a dollar extra to add the filling and there wasn’t much of it. Ordered an iced white chocolate coffee and it came out hot and unsweet 25 mins later. Outside seating is self seated. Table was dirty and we had to ask for it to be cleaned about 20 mins after we sat. The food took a while to come out, about 50 mins after ordering. Overall friendly staff.

I have eaten here on many occasions. The food is always fresh and the service was great. I love the Lava Chicken Salad and the loco moco is great. Don’t miss the Malasada’s and signal coffee. We went a few weeks ago on a Sunday and there was a few guys playing guitar on the patio which added to the overall ambiance of the place. Would highly recommend to anyone that loves the taste of Hawaii.

Shaka Shack makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. Have been there many times and it’s always delicious. The ambience and service are special. Everyone that works there is friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing! Some of my favorites are kolbi short ribs and fried rice. The poke bowl, lava chicken salad, loco moco, the chili on cold days, and the Malasadas. The coffee and mimosas are really good too. Enjoy!

So I came here just for a couple malasadas since it's one of the few places that make them. They really need to install a waiting list system and a takeout bench or something because standing for an hour for 2 pastries doesn't seem worth it. Some dine-in people would order their food and then find themselves unable to sit anywhere.

Parts of meal was missing, very unseasoned food. Ordered short ribs, but lots of jagged bones on the food so it made it harder to eat, first time experiencing this in a restaurant. Burrito that was ordered was missing a critical piece, and they said that they were all out of the specific ingredient but the ingredient was sitting out clearly on the counter. Burrito was bland, kimichi cucumbers were bland, everything not good. So we were confused. Maybe it was an off day, but food was disappointing and we couldn’t finish our meals. Spent too much for quality.

Great place for casual meal with friends. Sat outside under the awning with plenty of parking in lot.

Got food delivered so I won’t rate the experience or service badly, but the food was genuinely the worst I ate all year. And what makes it memorable is that the Mac salad was made with spaghetti noodles which disturbed my mind. To top that off I got a chicken plate and instead of the meat being a cutlet chopped up like most other places it seemed like chicken that you put in salads or something overall not a big fan at all.

Amazing Hawaiian, best I've had in the bay. The place is very laid back, and eating outside was pleasant.

Me and the wife got the volcano chicken Kai's plate and kalua pork Loco Moco. The chicken was surprisingly moist and very well spiced, it paired super well with the fried rice. The pork and fried egg felt so homey with the gravy, I was in love ❤️ Not to mention the kimchi cucumber and Mac salad, both nice and tasty whole cold and refreshing on a summer day ☀️

Ingredients were fresh and dishes not overly oily which has been my complaint about most Hawaiian joints. Def recommend 😃
