Last minute walk-in and staff was able to fit me into a flight tasting. The tasting included 6 samples, a quick tour and an explanation of the distillery. Very enjoyable and recommended 👌 if you're in the area.
I had an amazing time visiting America's oldest craft distillery in Alameda, CA. Our host, Kevin, was super knowledgeable and gave us a guided tour of the inner workings of the distillery on the eve of making the 2026 batch of pear 'brandy'
Out past the polite skyline of San Francisco, where glass towers preen in their own reflections, there is a long exhale across the water.
You cross the bay to Alameda, then keep going. Another mile. Past what feels like the edge of intention. Onto the old bones of the Naval Air Station Alameda, where wind has room to rehearse and the sun refuses to share shade.
