The lady behind the bar told me I should learn how to tip when I was very respectful and all she did was grab me a couple beers and than as I’m walking away she was talking behind my back and I was gonna leave a tip when I left I do not

I've only been here a couple times, but it is always full of Alameda fine folk. The bar tender was very attentive and caring when I had over indulged before arrival and needed water. They have a great dart board and pool table. All inclusive restrooms. And even though it's usually pretty crowded when I go, they always have room for everyone! This is a hidden Alameda treasure.

Fun "hole in the wall" local bar with a pool table and dart boards. Immediately felt good vibes when i walked in. Drinks were reasonably priced. It's mostly a bar, but they do serve pizza. I tried a piece one time and it was good. I would definitely order a pizza if I'm there hanging out with my friends and we got hungry. I wouldn't go there just to order a pizza tho. In fact I didn't even know that you could order any food until my 3rd or 4th time going there. So, my description is that it's a bar that serves food. Not a restaurant that serves drinks.

Love this bar. The bartenders are always really nice. You have to try their pizza. It’s so good. I get it every time I come here.
I did not try the food. But it appears to be from Scolari's so it's probably decent.Stopped in and had an undrinkable daiquiri. Stick with the beer. Or the (bottom shelf) wine. Nice ambience tho and bartender was pleasant - so 4 stars. If they can make better drinks and stock better wine, I'd gave him the fifth star for sure.

The Benton is everything you want in a local bar. The selling point is the eclectic mix of bartenders, all experienced and all genuinely nice. Good mix of regulars and wide age range. Very little jackassery. Pool table. Prices are decent. Good beer selection.(FYI, woman in photo with blood on her NOT happen at Benton and they have video evidence occurred at another place. Yelp makes it way too easy to slander a small business.)
