This was a birthday dinner. The food was well prepared and service excellent. Prices were very reasonable. I do miss the table linens, but I understand they are very expensive.

My husband and I have been a few times, mostly for cocktails. They have a solid cocktail menu, and we love chatting with Ben and the other bartender (I can't remember his name, tall, bald, glasses), who is also fantastic. They both make great drinks.

We finally had dinner there for my husband's birthday, which happened to fall on a Monday, and good luck finding nice restaurants open on Mondays. Ana was our server and highly recommended the watermelon salad. She was right. It was amazing. Ana served us again two weeks later with friends on the bar side, also good food and great service.

For the birthday dinner both ordered steak. He got the filet and I had the rib eye. After being disappointed by the last four or five steaks I’ve had at restaurants, I was thrilled this one was perfectly cooked and seasoned.

I’ve lived in Alameda for 12 years, and I can’t believe it took us this long to get to this restaurant and bar.

Great staff, great food, great cocktails, happy hour specials. We’ll definitely be back.

We went to have dinner after the art and wine fair.
It was very busy and the staff were great.
The food was pricy, and for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, and 1 entree, it was 100 bucks.
My only issue was with the deep-fried Calimari. It was so rubbery and hard to chew.
By far, the worst I have had in my life.
That is the only negative.
My pasta was great, the drinks were delicious, and the garlic bread was good.

Food was underwhelming, a bit bland. Pretty sure just about everything is made from scratch, but somehow still mediocre. They did not have the gnocchi on the menu for my visit which was half the reason I came. Overall not worth the price. I get the impression they could do better but don't because the owner is too lazy or busy to come in often for quality checks and the patrons are old and don't know any better, and so are perfectly happy with their dry short ribs reminiscent of a crock pot roast. Might come back just for drinks. The bar looked cool.

Specific critiques of my short rib:
-dry and stringy, obviously overcooked
-only braised completely submerged, no evidence of broiling. Looked like it had been out of the braising liquid for a while and so the outside had hardened a bit. Exterior not very appetizing.
-demiglace I think was primarily better than bullion. Kind of thin also. I do not think they added butter, wine, or herbs to it, so it was very one note.
- Spinach was watery and the garlic too pungent. Would be better creamed for something like this.
-mashed potatoes were flavorless. Not enough butter or cream. No garlic or other seasonings could be detected.
-everything was undersalted. Even the butter that came with the bread.
-the plate was not heated and the food got cold quickly

I list all these in the hopes they will be fixed. Honestly, most require almost no effort, just better quality control. I don't think I'm out of line expecting this given the price. If you have Disneyland kind of money to throw around to see if a restaurant is a fun time, check it out. Maybe you will come on a better day.

$140 dinner including tax and tip for 2 people and the quality was not worth the cost imo. The short rib was dry and mashed potatoes lackluster. I liked that the fettuccini was freshly made. Most things undersalted. Overall mediocre execution but good quality ingredients.

Our server went above and beyond to make me a mocktail and get a corner booth with our reservation though so I appreciate that! They also have the coolest bartop I've ever seen, like lit up quartz or something haha

This is a lovely Greek restaurant -- although the bar is probably more popular than the restaurant, and I think you can also order food there. We stuck to Greek specialties, splitting the meze and spanakopita. The meze included tzatziki, prawns, loukaniko, pita, halloumi, and dolmathes. The spanakopita was very large and delicious. We each had a Greek salad and a martini to go with that. We didn't need dessert after all that.
