Aspiring coffee snob
I really wanted to like this place (and so many people say they do… for some reason), but every single time the espresso is basically undrinkable - it’s so dark, the beans are like charcoal. The place and equipment is also quite dirty. I’m leaving a second star because it’s a great location, and there’s usually a nice handful of friendly neighborhood folk. Why they go there, I can’t tell you.

Huge variety of vegan cake donuts, which are the superior donuts. Also more reasonably priced than I expected. I got a large cold brew and 8 donuts for $34.

I love this place! The coffee Is perfection. There’s a lavender chai that is to die for. The cappuccinos terrific. The espresso is strong but not burnt tasting. I personally love my latte with cream, but they also have a few different vegan dairy options as well. Everyone there is so accommodating. I also enjoy the background music. Their playlist is always on point. Great little moody vibe. And the donuts are fresh from the donut farm -all vegan with so many different ones to choose from.
The Westbrae neighborhood is a jem 🤎☕️

I really love this small coffee shop. The workers are so friendly, and the coffee flavors are so innovative and unique! They prefer if you pay in cash so do that if possible.

I recently visited Coffee Conscious and had such a great time! The coffee was absolutely delicious – rich, smooth, and bursting with flavor. The baristas were super friendly and really knew their stuff, making sure every cup was perfect. The cozy atmosphere and stylish decor made it the ideal spot to relax and enjoy my drink. I highly recommend this place to all coffee lovers out there!

I've been to Coffee Conscious multiple times and each time, I am hopeful the experience will be different/better than the time before. Sadly, each time I have been there the coffee is mediocre, the barista seems irritated, and vibe in the shop is a bit off . . . not welcoming. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the vegan donuts.
Delicious coffee (freshly ground) and yummy donuts in a welcoming space. For something different try the Vanilla Clove latte. Love it here!

I dont want to rate low bc not about drink quality or service, but concerned about labor practices here. Ive been three tiemes when one person is taking orders and making drinks, i left because i felt bad, like i didnt want to overwork them more. Why is common here?
the line is long and its pretty cruel to do a single barista. This cafe is successful, why arent the shifts properly staffed? Whatever the owner is saving by not hiring, they are losing in customers who either cant wait or order basic drinks bc ordering a lattes feels overworking the barista.

The coffee is the best in Berkeley area. I am not exaggerating. Though this place doesn’t look fancy, you have to try their coffee, so great! The guy who works there is very nice. We usually get one bag nutty coffee beans. Recommend here.
