“If there’s one place that’s been a constant in my life, it’s Al’s Big Burger in Albany, CA. For the past 25 years, Al’s has been my go-to spot for the ultimate comfort food experience. From my middle school days to now, nearly turning 40, my affection for Al’s has only grown stronger.Let’s talk about the main event: the bacon cheeseburger. It’s nothing short of perfection. The burger is always cooked to juicy perfection, the bacon crisp, and the cheese melted just right, creating a symphony of flavors that dance in your mouth with every bite. Pairing this with their golden, crispy fries and the unparalleled creamy, dreamy peanut butter shake is the epitome of a classic American meal that can’t be beaten. But it’s not just the food that keeps me coming back year after year—it’s the nostalgia and the consistently warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes Al’s feel like home. Walking into Al’s is like stepping into a time machine, where for a moment, you can relive those carefree days of youth while enjoying a meal that’s as delicious now as it was back then.Over the years, I’ve seen trends come and go, but Al’s Big Burger remains timeless. It’s a testament to the quality of their food and the love they put into each meal. Whether you’re a long-time local or just passing through Albany, Al’s is a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of burger heaven. Here’s to Al’s Big Burger—may it continue to be a beacon of culinary delight for many more years to come. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure, do yourself a favor and drop by. You might just find yourself writing a glowing review 25 years from now, too.”
“We had not had dinner here in a couple of years, until last night. I saw the new menu items page with the "Tea-Smoked Duck and had to try it! It was worth the drive in the Winter storm to try the generous serving of Half Duck!”
“After living in Shanghai for years and coming home to the Bay Area - I’ve been missing these flavors. Up there with Great China - this gets my vote for the best in the East Bay.Szechuan peppercorns FTW ??”
“Great family-owned restaurant. Came in on a Tuesday and was lucky that there's no line. I got the fried calamari and chicken pad Thai. Both tasted great and the pad Thai portion was very generous.”
“1111 Solano is a new location for this restaurant. Previously near Craneway and before the pandemic in Point Richmond. Same chef, same staff, and same excellent food and service.”
“Fantastic. Humble. Delicious. Also it tastes like it was made with love. This is hard to quantify and is not something that can be compelled by the lure of the dollar.”
“This is my very favorite place to eat in the Bay Area. My husband and I always feel like we are absolute criminals when we eat here because we don't believe there can actually be food this good. Everything is perfect in this place, from the drinks, to the apps, to the coffee at the end of the meal. Definitely eat here. When you are done and on the way home, you will feel thrilled and victorious like you have stolen your own car!”
“The burgers are not just food; they're an experience. Each bite bursts with flavor, sending your taste buds on a rollercoaster of joy! The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it the perfect spot that makes you feel like a VIP. Highly recommend this hidden gem in the Bay area.”
“Driving home from a road trip & wanted to eat Thai food. This place had parking & was not too far from the highway. We had tofu green salad rolls, tofu green curry with jasmine rice, Tom yum fried rice without egg, Thai iced tea with coconut milk, & jasmine tea.”
“Solano Junction Breakfast, Brunch, and Dinner Restaurant exceeded our expectations with its delightful ambiance and delicious cuisine. Despite arriving around noon and experiencing a brief wait for a table, our patience was rewarded with a cozy spot by the window, adding to the charm of our dining experience. The menu, though modest in size, offered a variety of enticing options. I indulged in a robust coffee, while my wife savored a rich mocha that left her thoroughly impressed. Our main dishes, the Huevos Rancheros for both of us, were expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Additionally, the waffles with fruit and the crêpes Nutella and bananas were equally satisfying, leaving us eager to return and explore more of the menu.As the lunch rush subsided around 12:30 pm, the restaurant transitioned into a quieter, more intimate setting, allowing us to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. While the space felt snug, the upbeat ambiance added to the overall dining experience.Throughout our visit, the service remained impeccable, with our waitress demonstrating attentiveness and warmth. Her friendly demeanor enhanced our dining experience, contributing to the overall positive impression of the restaurant. In conclusion, Solano Junction is a hidden gem that offers a delightful dining experience, whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. We look forward to returning and indulging in more of their delectable dishes.Parking: Be ready to hunt for parking and most likely walk a bit from your car.”
“I've been going here for years. Once I discovered their unique flavors I never went anywhere else. Exotic and traditional choices. Made in front of you and always fresh. Try the white sauce with any burrito.”
“First time diners. Loved the food, ambience and attitude. Was take-out but we wished we could have dined in. Such a sweet environment! We had the chicken pad Thai, pumpkin curry with pork and corn fritters. The fritters got soggy by the time we got them home but we fixed them in the toaster oven. We WILL be back!”
“Best taco truck hands down! Ordered tripe, cow tongue, and beef tacos! Amazing flavor! The atmosphere is not so great as the truck is next to a dive bar. I get it, people get drunk and the food craving kicks in. Will be eating here indefinitely unless food quality changes. Highly recommended this taco truck! Street parking!”
“I deeply appreciate the owners dedication to creating a wonderful experience for their customers. Last time we went to Everest Kitchen, we had a hiccup with our Togo order. After learning about this, the owners and staff were quick to resolve the issue! We're glad we got to give them another go because it was well worth it! My husband and I had the veggie korma, lamb curry, garlic naan, mango lassi, and samosas. The entrees were flavorful, and paired nicely with the garlic naan (of course!). The samosas are MUST try. Wow. They were phenomenal!! I love samosas already, but I find that some places tend to over bread them. These were perfect. These had a nice outer shell that wasn't too thick, so you really get to enjoy the flavors. I could have eaten the whole order to myself, they were that good! The sauces that accompany the samosas are also very tasty. 10/10. Lastly, the Mango Lassi was a great treat. It was the right level of sweetness for my husband and I. Overall, after our experience and interactions with the staff/owners, we will definitely be back and thinks it's worth giving a try for those looking for quality food/service.”
“Really love Sam’s! The Chilaquiles are my go to choice and if the sun is out, a table in the sunshine is pure perfection. The staff is efficient - I would welcome a little more friendliness if they are taking notes. Also I would buy a latte every time if they would put in a mug rather than a clear glass. Lately choosing iced tea instead. I especially love coming on a weekday when there is generally no wait time. The heaters are well placed and going on cold days is still really nice.Parking: Be willing to walk 5 min and you can find free street parking.”
