“Just amazing. Pop-up street food doesn’t get better than this.”
“Amazing place, a bit unexpected when you drive by. Ihad great moments and made best friends. Cocktails are best in region! Try!”
“Shawny C was an absolute beacon of light from the moment we met her. Her warm personality, genuine kindness, and welcoming spirit made us feel right at home. She didn't just serve drinks—she created an experience that made us feel valued, appreciated, and cared for.
It's rare to meet someone who naturally makes people feel welcomed and loved, but Shawny does exactly that. Her positive energy was contagious, and her authenticity stood out in the best possible way. By the end of our visit, we felt like we'd come back just to see her again.
Rob Ben's Restaurant & Lounge is fortunate to have someone like Shawny representing their establishment. She turned a good visit into a memorable one, and we can't wait to return.”

“5 stars. Amazing food from the lentil soup to dessert. Highly recommend.”
“Went here for a work function since you can rent/reserve sections. Beer tap list is impression. 8 hole very mini golf course and a similar sort of 1-2 putt thing that’s like shuffleboard for golf balls”
“They have individual cooking pots so that each person can get their own broth to cook in which is great when your party likes different spice levels. They provide a good variety of vegetables and mushrooms and choices for sides including vegetables and traditional Chinese hotpot meats like tripe. The pumpkin worked really well.
The steaks were fresh and very thin so easy to cook. The wagu was very fatty, but the menu did say 40% fat. The chuck was perfect to american tastes.”

“Delicious. I’ve had their tacos, torta and soul bowl and they always hit the spot. Best jamaica I can find around here as well. I grew up on Mexican and I am not easy to impress but they have a unique and tasty menu. Go here whenever you’re in Emeryville, don’t even look at anything else.”

“This is a hidden gem! Vy’s homemade lemongrass tofu banh mi are the best banh mi in the bay! I’ve never had such good tofu banh mi, including in my travels throughout Vietnam! After I tasted her banh mi, I immediately returned to buy another. I even brought my family here when they visited from out of town.
Vy and her father are also kind, friendly, and welcoming. Truly amazing service and great prices. Their thai tea boba and their special happy hour deal is great.
TLDR: this spot is my new favorite and is a must try!”
“Our first visit but absolutely not our last! What delicious flavors! Everyone loved their desserts, the toppings are incredible (vegan hot fudge, vegan caramel, toasted almonds,) and we all left full and happy! Definitely stop in when you’re in the neighborhood!”
“I've been coming for breakfast and lunch every other week for the past several months. The food is tasty and prepared with care, and the service is very good. The bagel with lox is generously portioned with plenty of capers and onions. The breakfast burrito is tasty and very balanced between the chorizo and other ingrediets. All the sandwiches have a great balance of ingredients, are generous, but not oversized. The house coffees are nice blends. What I mean by prepared with care is that nothing is greasy or over salty, meaning it is purposely prepared and assembled carefully, and ingredients chosen and the dish seasoned with attention so the end result is great. Take the breakfast burrito, for example - most places, there would be grease and juices dripping out, but Ruby's is very clean and tasty - you can eat with one hand without worrying it will drip onto your arm.”
“great service and hospitality love there food will always come back .”
“Food and service both were 5stars athe Emeryville location. Server Beni and Salman were very professional and great service. We recommend the fish and prawn curry and chicken trio 👍”
“I ordered the spicy bibimbap bowl and a hazy IPA. By far the best value spot in the area, and delicious! Service was quick, and overall I definitely recommend this spot for the hearty bowls and the hazy IPA was also great! One thing to note: there's not much indoor eating seating, but there is plenty of outside seating.”

“I absolutely love Why Cook! I go to this cafe all the time for my morning coffee, which is always delicious! Costa and Reema are two of the kindest people I have ever met. They have a large selection of food on the menu and everything is super tasty. I highly recommend!”
“Best diner food in the East Bay. Live music on second Friday of the month 6 to 8:30pm.”
“Think what a great Thai restaurant should be? and Summer Summer is that!”

“Chinatown can be a daunting place to dine in San Francisco due to its vast authentic cuisine which is unlike anything outside of China itself. I don’t speak or read any of the dialect, but somehow managed to order food and drink that was delicious. I’m pretty sure that we created much amusement for the other diners who were rather interested in the ‘foreigners’ selections. Hey, we’re tourists from the UK enjoying our adventures and are used to ridicule thanks to our lousy corrupt government, it was no big deal. Chinatown, great cuisine in very different surroundings. Highly recommended.”
“I love it that when I have a half hour or hour to kill, Cafe Rack has plenty of pool tables and a well-lit space for me to use. I can go there alone or with a friend, and don't need to order anything to eat or drink unless I want to. Parking is not plentiful, though.”
“Booked Hong Kong East Ocean for my birthday dinner. I wanted to eat Salt and pepper crab. My reservation was at 8:39pm, it was very quiet on a Tuesday night. The venue reminded me to f a 90's wedding hall.. I ordered Ginger scallion crab because it was the only non spicy option besides steam crab;which was delicious and I ordered a beef and bell peppers dish w/steM rice.”
“Una comida auténtica de los ancestros aztecas.una variación de moles”
“thank you katsu sora Trinoma. maraming salamat din sa nag assist samin na si Claire. sobrang attentive and friendly.”
Takeout Restaurants
“We had dinner there tonight (3/14/24) for the first time and we will be back. Two of the most interesting and truly delicious sandwiches we have ever eaten. I can't remember what mine was called, but it had chicken (roasted perfectly), sauerkraut, cheese and other awesome stuff on a grilled rye bread that was excellent. My bride had the turkey sandwich and loved it. But the star of the show were the Tater Tots. Perfectly crisp with BBQ sauce to dip them in and then into some wonderful real bacon bits. Every tot stayed crisp from the first to the last. The meal was worth every penny and more. Get into the Alameda location and try it. You won't be sorry. PS: The only bad part for me is that we live in Seattle and won't be back down until May. But you can bet I will be eating here then.”
“This place is a gem if you’re looking for big, satisfying comfort food. The sandwiches and burgers are HUGE—definitely come hungry or plan to take some home. The portions alone make it worth it.
The gator tots were a standout—super crispy and packed with flavor. You can tell it’s a well-loved local spot with a laid-back vibe.
It’s also conveniently located near public transportation, which makes it really easy to swing by. Overall, a great go-to spot when you want something hearty and delicious!”
“Wynn Whisenhunt created a beautiful brewery with relaxing atmosphere inside and out. Go enjoy time with friends and family while enjoying really good beer. Prost! 🍻”

“Consistent, kind, and delicious. Been working on the street they're parked on for a long while and the thing I'll miss most about this job ending is grabbing a top notch burrito whenever I want.Only recently tried a breakfast burrito and it was so good.Currently eating a carne asada burrito with just beans and salsa and I could not be happier.Support these good folks!”
“This particular location 5751 TOGOs at Emeryville is a place to visit . Amazing Vibe excellent Customer service and great sandwiches for that price tag . An excellent leader as a Manager with his crew makes it all
Happen . Keep up the Good Job Emeryville Togos. See you soon !”
“This spot is definitely your old school neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. I was there for a bday celebration.... it was cool for a random eveing. They had kareoke and one pool table. Cocktails seemed to ok for the crowd; no quality wine selections for me so it was a dry night. Overall the music made it was enjoyable.”
“Everyday all day five guys eats it's always okay! Got to take hands down to some of the best burgers and fries I've ever eaten and doesn't matter what location I go into they are all the same very clean organized well managed Sammy had a chance to ever stop by one of their locations you should because you want for delightful treat”
“Inside was clean, I got the beef mini meal and replaced the macaroni salad with rice, the food cane with rice, bbq beef, and vegetables (cabbage and broccoli) the food was so good that I picked out the broccoli and ate it on its own, and I hate broccoli, so that shows how good it was”

“I would eat here again if I was staying at the Hyatt house again. 5 stars for atmosphere because it is close enough to enjoy your food in your room! It is a good atmosphere outside by the truck too but not lots of seating or cute decor if thats what you're looking for.
I was given a free beignet, fresh and hot to enjoy while I waited.
They didn't have the burger when I was there and I was between the mushroom sandwich or a chicken thigh pita. If I could go back, maybe next time I would try the chicken pita. The mushroom sandwich was good but I am personally not a fan of very thick bread. The fries were delicious, thick cut fries and fried perfectly. Nice and hot. Friendly service”
“We love stopping at Dipped for a sweet treat! Their caramel apples are always fresh, tasty, and perfectly made. The staff is polite and friendly, which makes each visit easy and enjoyable.
It’s become a fun stop for my kids on the way home — they get excited every time. Great local dessert spot if you’re in the Bay Street area!”
“I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was absolutely delicious — a flavor that words can’t fully describe. The naan was excellent, and the Mango Lassi paired perfectly with my lunch. The portions were generous. I planned to take photos, but the food looked and smelled so good that I forgot. Overall, I highly recommend Konarq.”
“Food was amazing! The ground beef enchiladas with red sauce were flavorful and the portions look huge but I promise you’ll finish your meal and feel great. Rice and refried beans were amazing, everything tasted fresh and made to order, not as if it’s been sitting in a warmer. Even the tortilla chips with pico de gallo would bring me back. Staff was kind and prompt as they could be. It wasn’t too crowded inside, but lots of pick up and to-go orders.”
“I don't know how many, but there are at least two Kelly's Delis in the East Bay that are located by Home Depots, so whenever I go to Home Depot I check them out. They have a variety of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and mexican food.I really enjoy their breakfast burritos which are made with hashbrowns, eggs, rice and choice of meat. They're decently priced and their team turns around orders relatively quick.”
“Weak recommendation. I like the choices but we went in at 1120 am (had been open 20 minutes) and lettuce and guacamole were turning brown. I know it was not the decision of the staff to reuse, they must have been told to do so. I generally like it. Today was disappointing. I’ll pay 30 cents more for today’s lettuce.”
“The young man (#006) who served me on 9/9/25 was unusually polite, considerate and extremely helpful. It was quite unexpected. Subway food is not very different one store from another. Differences among stores are mostly location and customer service. The latter is usually either ok or subpar at Subway. Some stores charge extra for toasting and won't allow the use of gift card, can hardly speak English, and sometimes are downright rude. How refreshing to be served by this wonderful young man who patiently responded to my requests, always with a smile. I regret not getting his name, he is tall, a big guy, young and so friendly. Thank you.”
“We placed the orders online and picked ithem up in the store. When the scheduled pickup time arrrived, the app told me the orders were ready. But when we got there, the food was not ready, and we ended up waiting for about 10 min. The timing could definitely use some improvement.
I ordered the salad bowl, the portion was generous, and the ingredients were freash.”
“Really nice place. The food is really good and nice big portions. The servers are really friendly and the cook (Nayeli) is amazing and super accommodating with our order.”
“Good coffees, responsive customer service, reasonable prices compared to most online coffee sellers”
“I often order the curry udon with chicken katsu from here and find the quality consistent and delicious, and the service good. Demiya does lack a personal touch by having an order kiosk rather than someone to help up front, but the staff do still step in if it looks like someone is having trouble.”
“this was my first time going I came for my birthday I had the best time ever the decorum, the atmosphere it was everything elegant and the meat the meat just kept coming It was great I recommend this place you will love it❤️”

“Excellent Coffee with Above-and-Beyond Customer Service.
Recently moved to the East Bay area and was looking for a reliable roaster with a blend that is dark but not bitter, chocolatey but not overly fruity, and not sour. I looked up roasters in my area, walked up to their locations, tried their coffee, and picked up their dark roasts. I didn't ask my barista for a recommendation because the Highwire location I visited didn't feel particularly warm or welcoming.
That's when I discovered Shadow Play, which my household lovingly calls “Shadowfax”. It was everything my coffee should be: dark but not bitter, chocolatey but not fruity or sour, and the best part was that it was consistent across my Moccacamaster, pour over, or Aeropress (as long as I used the right grind size). I can't say the same about my other local roaster (I won't signal which one): different grinds/processes and entirely different flavor profiles from the exact same bean/batch.
But I honestly did not like buying the beans from my local location, so I wanted to get it shipped from the likes of drinktrade.com; that's when I discovered Highwire has a subscription model where they ship freshly roasted beans every week to my doorstep, and they do throw in a discount, so even after shipping costs, the total amounts to the same as buying in-person.
Things were fine the first week, but then a funny thing happened: USPS decided my freshly roasted East Bay beans needed a cross-country detour through New Jersey before finding their way back to me. I was not amused. I shot off a slightly irritated note to Highwire expecting either silence or a form response.
Instead, Steve from production wrote back within the hour, on a Sunday, and offered to personally drop off fresh beans at my place on his way home from the roastery. Which he did. No fanfare, no coupon code, no customer service script. Just a person who cares about the coffee he makes reaching out to make it right.
That's when I stopped being a customer and became an advocate.
Shadow Play is excellent coffee. Steve and the team at Highwire are the reason I'll keep drinking it. In an era when most businesses treat customers as numbers, Highwire still operates like a neighborhood roaster that actually knows what good coffee means and why it matters.
If you're looking for a roaster in the East Bay, stop looking.”

“What a great surprise. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We look forward to trying the rest of the menu. I highly recommend the Loco Moco.”
