“Stumbled upon this place randomly and the food didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t busy at all on Friday evening so we were able to easily walk in. Great Thai food with plenty of options as a vegetarian. The green curry was one of the best I had and they made it spicy yet super flavorful. Tom yum soup was great too. The service was very fast and friendly.“

“This place was so busy! Every table filled! People on a list waiting. More outside! Multiple big groups. The staff was working so hard! They were fantastic! We ordered over the phone, and immediately understood why it was hard to hear them! The place has very high ceilings, the sound of happy diners was very loud!

The food was yummy! So yummy! Loved their take on a fresh roll. Pad Se Ew has a nice bit of color from cooking like it should! The catfish deluxe was amazing. Yellow curry with chicken was great too. Good find.“

Parking was easy and we walked into a warm atmosphere with high ceilings, long tables with comfortable chairs and professional service. “This palce is a certain of community and history on Bernal Heights. Old friends come in to greetings of hugs and kisses from the staff. New patrons are welcomed in almost equal fashion! “Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

We tried:
• Pad Thai Tofu — recommend but their Tofu isn’t deep fried like some other places. Maybe Inquire or push for this if it’s important.
• Mushroom Dumplings 🥟 — also recommend
• Mango Sticky Rice — decent; not the best I’ve had, but still enjoyable
• Deep Fried Veggie Rolls — pretty good
• Thai Iced Tea — solid and refreshing

Overall, we had a nice experience. The food was tasty, service was attentive, and it’s a great casual spot for a date night.“

“First time eating in this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We had the steamed dumplings with crab, garlic fried rice, whole branzino with fish sauce and green beans with mushrooms and half half purple rice and jasmine rice. They were all delicious.
The steamed dumplings came out right away but we had to wait awhile for the next dish. Then the green beans and mushrooms came out which were perfectly crispy and in an oyster/fish garlic sauce. The next dish didn’t come out for a long time. We were so hungry that we essentially ate the entire side before our second two dishes came out.
It was obviously not our server’s fault. The kitchen could have timed it better.
We did not have any beverages nor dessert. The bill to $148 with an above average tip. We will be back but it’s not going to be a regular thing due to the price.“

My daughter spotted this restaurant and we are absolutely in love. Clean, comfortable eating area inside and outside. Variety on the menu and best Thai food we’ve eaten in a long time. “This was my first time eating here, footnote. I’m not from this area. Had a group that went hiking and decided on Thai food after the hike. Went with the chicken yellow curry and Jazmyne rice. Overall, it was good and the service was very friendly. At the end, they brought out some snacks for dessert that were prepackaged.“

“We've only done takeouts from this spot. They have some tables for dine in but it seems most people get takeouts or delivery from here.

The Khao Man Gai (Thai style) favor is good and their soup is one of the best chicken soup I've had. However, they reduced the amount of the chicken recently (compared to when they just opened), and the thickness of the meat is also much thinner(1/4 or 1/3 of an inch at almost at the thickest part). I don't like restaurants that do this and would prefer they increase the price. Otherwise you get the food and realize it's not as filling as it used to be.

Considering it's just rice, sauce and cucumber as the other ingredients, I think the price they charge warrants more chicken meat.

5 stars for the flavor but minus 1 star for the portion size.“

“I travel around the world for work and this Thai restaurant is quite possibly amongst the best I’ve tried. I will return every time I’m in San Francisco. Also, it’s a few blocks out of the way and was not busy on a Saturday at 6pm. Take advantage of excellent food without a wait before everyone finds it!“

“Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“
