“Our favorite Thai restaurant ever. ? They now served Kao Mun Gai (chicken and rice) Thai style. Tasty and good price. We also had Tamarind Prawn. It’s crispy jumbo prawns topped with tamarind sauce and grilled asparagus. Yummm. Best food, service and vibes. Love this place!!! Recommended!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“I order the pumpkin curry. It was delicious. I also ordered the Tom Ka chicken soup. It was too tart, the chicken over cooked. A disappointment for a soup I usually love“

“Still our favorite Thai place in San Francisco. Authentic, great quality food and still reasonable priced.
Only issue is the location. This area is just getting worse and worse. We try not to come here after dark and always make sure to park right in front of the restaurant.
Parking: Parking is always a pain. Keep your stuff out of sight.“

“I ordered takeout khao man gai and mango sticky rice and it was delicious! The sauces that go with the khao man gai were so falvorful and added so much depth to the dish. The mango sticky rice was also super good. The coconut sauce was sweet with a hint of saltiness to balance out the dish, and although mangos are not in season right now, the mangoes were still sweet. I would come back here and order something else on the menu because I would want to try what else they have :)“

“For the small and limited space and sitting restaurant not in the best part of East Bay, this restaurant has a very attentive servers and tasty fresh food. It is not a Fancy Atmosphere but food quality and service masks the shortcomings. Try it and you will like it.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“Great food, good portion size, and a cute atmosphere! Service was quick and efficient. Got the yellow curry with tofu, pad Thai with chicken, and fried rice with fried chicken. Everything really hit the spot and the price was super reasonable for this type of place.“

“My guest and I both had the veggie set and both really liked it. But I'm not sure it's actually vegetarian — the server seemed confused when I asked about both salad options listed as having shrimp. Which makes me wonder if it also had regular fish sauce. And both dessert options have dairy, I was told“

“I walk by this place all the time, and it's always full. So tonight I went and was not disappointed. For being in the Tenderloin, this is the best Thai I've had in a long time. Portions are really big and very reasonable priced. Just don't say you want super spicy, I like super spicy foods, but that was a little too much. Definitely recommend it to anyone who has never been there.“

“Came here for lunch at Noon on a Thursday. Parking was easy metered, and restaurant was half full. Wonderful service and nice decor. Very authentic Thai dishes with beautiful presentation. My favorite was the mixed appetizer plate.... Some of the bites were a party in my mouth!! The jumbo prawn pad Thai was just OK, as all the ingredients were fresh and cooked well, but the overall dish was lacking flavor, thus the 4/5 rating. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes.“

“One of my fav restaurants in Oakland! AND a great catering choice! We had Bird and Buffalo do catering for our 100-ppl wedding at the Oakland redwood park, and everything went beyond perfect. Pat (the owner) and her team were super thoughtful, communicative, and professional; they made the whole process very easy for us (which is a huge plus since we did the wedding DIY style). Of course the food was amazing and our guests loved it!“

“Our dining experience at Bangkok Garden last evening was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff. They promptly escorted us to our table, where our orders were taken and served with remarkable efficiency. Accompanied by our two young children, who were exceptionally well-catered to, we indulged in a variety of dishes. The grilled chicken satay and the fresh spring rolls were the stars of the evening. It's certain that we will be returning for another memorable meal. Bangkok Garden comes highly recommended!“

“What could be better on a rainy autumn day than a bowl of hot and sour soup with udon noodles, crispy pork and more? I loved this place. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was above and beyond attentive. I also loved all the healthy potted plants which gives the Noodle Lover Club a jungle vibe.“

“We got the green curry with beef instead of pork. It had broccoli, two squash pieces and a green chili in it. It was good. The sauce was on the thinner side and tasted nice. The meat was good.
The staff is so super friendly. Look forward to coming back and trying more dishes!
Parking: Park in their lot so your car doesn’t get bipped. It’s Oakland after all.“

“1. Tom Yum Chicken soup = 5/5
2. Yellow Curry Chicken = 4/5 (carrots and potato were under cooked.
3. Mango Sticky Rice = 3/5 (mango was sour and hard (not ripe).
Waiter didn't seem to care.
It's very noisy making it difficult to talk.“

“Tried the place because of the recommendations and proximity.
Neither the surroundings nor the entrance seemed impressive. Simple decor and setup inside.
The crowd inside and continuous flow of the online delivery personnel does indicate its popularity.
Had a papaya salad with grilled prawns as a starter followed by Spicy Green Bean Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. All sumptuous though the salad was a bit spicier than what we are used to. Ample portions and we had to cancel another dish based on the serving size (which they cancelled without any issue).
Service was good but seemed understaffed.
Overall, a fulfilling experience. Definitely value for money.“

“I tried to encourage my 12 yo to go to a different Berkeley Thai restaurant last night. His response was, "Dad, if it isn't from Maya Thai, honestly, I'm not interested."
Vegetarian options: I have also ordered take out many times, too. Always excellent. They close at 8.30 pm not 9 pm. Google screwed that up, oc.
Dietary restrictions: Very GF aware.
Kid-friendliness: Love kids.“

“Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

“This is the best Thai reataurant!! My family and I have been going here for over 15 years. We refer to it as “good thai” to distinguish it from the other thai places around. The food is delicious and so flavorful. Our favorites are the yellow and green curries, pad see ew, and eggplant with tofu. Everything on the menu is delicious!“

“Staff were kind and very happy to explain everything on the menu. Pad Thai was a bit too sweet for my liking, but the salads, platter, and curry was nice! Thai tea was authentic and well-spiced, although not for those who don't have a sweet tooth. Our company also recommended the mango sticky rice!“

“Cozy, petite Thai eatery on Lombard, designed to evoke a manicured side street in Bangkok.Tom Kha Soup, a coconut milk broth wonderfully fragrant from lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, galangal and chili — perfect with a side of rice noodles dipped in.While tasty, the price point seems to reflect more the neighborhood than the kitchen’s unique ability. Nothing far from the classic standard.“

“We tried the crab fried rice, bbq pork, fried chicken wings, eggplant. All the dishes were really excellent. My favorite was definitely between the crab fried rice with real crab and the bbq pork which was super flavorful. The fried chicken was also super crispy and tasted amazing with the sweet chili sauce. PraJam is a real gem in the neighborhood. I want to try everything here!“

“The food was amazing. My family and I went on a whim because Thai food was the only type of food we could all agree on, but it ending up wowing us all. It’s now going to be our new go to spot anytime we’re around Civic Center. Going back soon (literally today).“

“So happy we got to be one of the first customers to ever eat at this new Thai restaurant. The place inside is pretty small, but the decor is cute & simple. They make the most of the room by putting as many small tables that fit with seating mostly for tables of two or four. We were literally the second table to ever eat in this new spot. And wow, am I glad I decided to search Yelp today for lunch. The service was super sweet, friendly, and perfect. We had a hard time deciding on what to try first (because everything sounded good and the smells from the kitchen were amazing). What we ordered: - Tom Kha Soup with Chicken Excellently flavors and just enough spice for me. My spouse loves really spicy dishes and said it would be delicious with more spiciness, but thought the broth was so good that it didn’t even need to change. We actually just wish there was an option to order a larger size, it was that good! Sometimes my spouse like to just have soup as the entree. - Green Curry with Chicken (comes with rice) Wow! Super bright and fresh taste! Smells really good and tastes even better. It was very fresh and loved all the vegetables inside (eggplant soaked up all the delicious flavor just right, baby corn- yum, etc.). - Pad Cashew Nut with Pork (comes with rice) AMAZING. Mouth-wateringly delicious. I did not want the dish to end. It was the perfect amount of flavor and freshness. Loved the cashews, the carrots, the onions, the cilantro on top. Perfect combination of sweet & salty sauce with nuttiness from the cashews, enhanced by the onion, carrot, cilantro. Since it was their first day, we enjoyed free beverages. The Thai tea was so good- you can get oat milk for $1 more. The Black Mango Iced Tea was also delicious and you get refills on it. I cannot wait to go back and eat every dish. Since it was their first hour open, we were there when the Doordash photographer came to snap pictures of all the dishes. WOW! We were eyeing the Lobster Ravioli and honestly it looks too good to miss. So we’ll probably be back later this week to try it and more. Congratulations on your opening. Thank you for bringing delicious Thai food to the area. We just moved up here from San Diego, and we’ve been having a hard time finding true Thai food and flavors. Many of the Thai places we’ve eaten up up here lack flavor or are just different because they’re fused with Laotian dishes or another type of cuisine. Finely we found a great Thai places we can walk to from the University Village apartments. See you soon!“
