Chinatown can be a daunting place to dine in San Francisco due to its vast authentic cuisine which is unlike anything outside of China itself. I don’t speak or read any of the dialect, but somehow managed to order food and drink that was delicious. Great food and ambiance. I have been going to Honor Bar for over 12 years. Great bar and cocktails. Super friendly and reliable staff. The food is a bit pricey now. Get the Bucket of Yardbirds and the Pizzas. Service is good but inconsistent with timing and order fumbles but they always correct.

Located in a spot that is easy to miss, Honor Kitchen offers a mix of experiences. The atmosphere is often described as great, with a sports bar/dining vibe, a cool hidden gem feel, and a patio that looks light and airy. For date night, friends grabbing drinks, or listening to live music, it is a great place. The food can be delicious, super flavorful, and the perfect mix of farm to table and comfort food, with pizzettas noted as tasty and truffle fries as outstanding. However, some reviews mention the food is just okay. Issues include a 40-minute wait for a sandwich and salad, a French dip with no seasoning, a seared ahi tuna salad devoid of acidity and salt, and a dry hummus. Adding protein to a salad is considered unreasonable, with salmon costing sixteen dollars and chicken twelve dollars. The happy hour lounge at 5pm can be unpleasantly loud with a football game, featuring a disproportionate TV-size to TV-volume ratio, inconsistent drinks, and subpar service. In contrast, the 9pm happy hour offers jolly vibes, cozy decorations, and a very nice server. The owner is friendly, and the manager usually stops by. Drinks are yummy, and the happy hour is well worth it.
